Top Ten Songs of Journey

Journey has created many hit songs over the years. They have established themselves as rock legends, sharing the spotlight with other 80’s bands such as Heart, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar and Air Supply to name a few. The music of Journey always seems to get a crowd excited, whether the music is being played by a live band or just by a disc jockey. The appeal of Journey’s music never seems to fade. Here are the top ten songs of Journey of all time, in my humble opinion.

Have you heard Journey’s new singer, Arnel Pineda from the Phillippines? The band found him by listening to him on YouTube. That’s incredible! Arnel Pineda’s voice is so clear and pure, I am sure we will all enjoy hearing him as the newest singer for Journey. Can you imagine, having a band like Journey want to audition you to be their new singer? I’ll bet it was one of the greatest moments in time for Arnel Pineda. Good luck!

1. Separate Ways. I don’t think I’ve ever seen crowds go so crazy over a song as they do when a band decides to cover Separate Ways by Journey. Instantly, everyone recognizes Separate Ways as soon as the first few chords are played. The song isn’t easy to cover by a band, because Steve Perry really hit some high sustained notes in this song. However, when the singer can pull it off, the song goes over really well!

2. Open Arms. This is such a truly romantic song, the appeal will probably never die. The song is easy to learn, because it only has two verses. It’s a relatively short song as compared to some of the other Journey tunes.

3. Faithfully. Another tear jerker, emotional song by Journey. I would love to have my boyfriend sing this song to me.

4. Don’t Stop Believin’. This is a motivational song for me. The message speaks measures with advice on how to live your life.

5. Who’s Cryin’ Now. I really like this song, it’s a personal favorite. It makes me think about the past, and everything I’ve done and everywhere I’ve been. It just brings me back.

6. Only the Young. This tune made it big in the 80’s, but I don’t hear it much anymore. It’s a great almost forgotten tune of Journey. I wish a band would play it somewhere and I could hear it live.

7. Lovin’ Touchin’ Sqeezin’. Okay, this isn’t a song I would want someone to sing to me. But the tune itself is cool to listen to. It has a good beat.

8. Anyway You Want It. This is one of Journey’s higher energy songs. It’s motivating if you want to get someone out onto the dance floor.

9. Lights. This is one of those Journey songs you just light a candle to and listen wholeheartedly.

10. Be Good To Yourself. This is definitely something you should do. I find this to be another motivational song of Journey.

So what about you, do you have any other favorite Journey tunes?
