Top Ten Dried Dog Foods Revealed

All dog owners have been there, the dilemma on what foods you should feed your dog. I have done a little bit of research to come up with the top 10 dog foods, in the dried variety. This list has been worked out by quality, quantity, ingredients, and dietary fulfillments. Let’s just hope you all agree!

Back to Basics (Chicken) – This dog food uses ingredients that would be deemed suitable for humans, so you know that you are getting quality for your money. It has been argued that fat is very good in a dogs diet, and this contains a very high fat content – 19%, so if you believe what the studies show, this would be one of the best things to feed your dog! It works out to roughly $1 per pound, making it one of the more reasonably prices dried dog foods available.

California Natural (Chicken & Rice) – This is cheaper than Back to Basics, at about $0.92 per pound, and is renowned for being good for dogs with allergies to certain food products. It has a simple and short list of ingredients so you know that it has not been filled with unnecessary food stuffs or by-products.

Canidae – Again, this is cheaper than the above two brands I have already mentioned at approx. $0.75 per pound. The good thing about this brand is that the date of manufacture has been printed on the packaging so you know exactly how long your pet food has been standing on the shelf for. It offers a diet of complete amino acid, containing four major proteins, and the ingredients are not fragments, they are whole.

Flint Rover Chicken Meal & Rice Formula – This one is quite expensive compared to the other three, priced at around $1.62 per pound. However, it is a fresh product delivered straight from the factory.

Innova – This is priced at around $1.32 per pound, all the ingredients are completely whole, with three main proteins right at the top of the list. The food is also considered to be human grade, meaning that it is the same ingredients that they would put in to human food products as well. This has meat, fish and vegetables in the ingredient list, ensuring that all dietary needs are met.

Limited Diets (Lamb) – Again, one of the slightly higher priced products ($1.46 per pound) you can be assured that this brand uses no artificial preservatives and is another brand that is very good for dogs with any allergies.

Pinnacle – This is a brand that contains probiotics for your dogs and contains two great enzymes. At $1.22 per pound, and two main proteins in the ingredient list, this definitely belongs in the top 10 dog foods!

Wellness Super5Mix – With three main proteins right at the top of the ingredient list, and a promise that all lamb is hormone free, this should really be higher up on the list. Filtered water is used in the production of this food and probiotics have been added afterwards.

Petguard Lifespan – Another cheaper brand, ($1.00 per pound) with some great ingredients such as chicken and liver. It also contains proteins with rice and vegetables included.

Wysong Maintenance – Again, $1.00 per pound. This is a brand that it best suited for dogs with meat allergies, as it contains very little meat compared to other brands.
