One of the places I like to go for the feel of a historic theater is the Maumee Indoor Theater. Located at 601 Conant Street at the intersection with the Anthony Wayne Trail, the town has grown up around this theater, but it looks as good today as it might have when it opened. At one time this theater sat empty, deteriorating more everyday. Thanks to the City of Maumee the theater was saved and restored to its former glory. The Maumee Indoor is now operated by Great Eastern Theaters, based in Toledo Ohio. You can call their movie hotline at 419-897-8901 to see what is playing.

Ticket prices are $3.50 for all shows. Most of their movies have been out elsewhere for at least a month, but they sometimes have new releases. Their special day is wild Wednesdays where admission is only $1.50 for all shows. On Wednesday they also offer popcorn for $1.25 and soda for $1.25.

If you like to shop or go out to dinner before or after your movie the best place to go is Levis Commons. The Showcase Cinemas at Levis Commons also has a food court for some quick service before the movie. The Showcase has comfortable stadium seating and great Dolby Digital sound. You can purchase ticket for any show at the theater or online.

A great movie theater for new releases at a very low cost is in Bowling Green at the Cinemark Woodland Mall Cinema 5. Their seats and sound system are very nice by 1980’s standards, however, there is no Dolby Digital sound or stadium seating.
