Top Five Red Washer and Dryer Sets

Washer and dryer sets don’t have to be white! Manufacturers of washers and dryers are catching on to the fact that some customers prefer a bit of color, and diversifying their ranges. Red is a color that can add quirkiness and character to your laundry room or kitchen. The multi-color trend in appliances is one that has long been popular in Europe. For instance, manufacturers of stoves and ovens produce them in bright colors such as red, blue and green. Unsurprisingly, customers are enjoying expressing a similar sense of fun in purchasing their washers and dryers in America. Here are five red washer and dryer sets to liven up your home.

Maytag sells one consumer washer in the color Crimson. The Maytag Performance Series Front Load Washer has a capacity of 4 cubic feet and is sold for $1199. Among its features is a sanitation cycle that eliminates 99.9% of household bacteria. Of course the temperature is high for this cycle (157 degrees F) so it will cost you more to run than the cooler cycles. The accompanying Maytag Performance Series Front Load Dryer is also available in Crimson. The capacity is 7.2 cubic feet and the price is $1,199.00, $100 more than the white version. A gas version is sold for $1269.

GE sells two shades of red washer and dryers. The GE Profile Washer is available in Vermillion Red. It is Energy Star qualified and has a capacity of 4.2 cubic feet. Other features include a system that lets it communicate with the dryer. Using this system, the dryer can prepare its drying cycles. The washer has space for six months of detergent to gradually dispense with each load. Its companion appliance is the GE Profile Dryer which has a capacity of 7.5 cubic feet. The GE Profile Dryer is available in electric and gas.

The GE Energy Star 4.0 Cubic Foot Washer is front loading and available in Metallic Red. It is Energy Star Rated and available for $1069. The matching GE Metallic Red Dryer has a capacity of 7 cubic feet and retails for $969.

The products above are listed on manufacturers’ websites. However, it also worth considering buying from retailers where you may be able to get a better deal on appliances that aren’t from this year’s line or which may not be coordinated models. For instance, Best Buy sells a Samsung washer in Red that is not listed on the Samsung website. The Samsung 13 cycle washer in Tango Red is sold at Best Buy for $1259.99. An accompanying Red dryer is the LG 7.3 Cubic Foot Steam Dryer in Cherry Red for $1299.99 at Best Buy.

One of the least expensive washers in our selection is the Bosch Duo-tone Washer from Sears. It has a capacity of 4 cubic feet and is Red and White. You can buy it for $999. The matching Bosch Duo-tone Dryer has a capacity of 6.7 feet and costs $899.99. The gas version is sold for $969.99.
