Top BBQ Places in Memphis, TN

Memphis is a city that is famous for the Blues, Elvis, Grizzly’s, and BBQ. With places like Graceland, Beale Street, and the Stax museum to visit, BBQ will top off your experience. Many great musicians have begun their music careers here. One thing they all enjoyed was the food that came from Memphis. BBQ is such a staple of the area that it is given a special time of the year that is known as Memphis In May BBQ contest. During this contest BBQ teams come from all over to show their best secrets of the BBQ world they have to offer. Here is a list of some of the best places to eat.

Corky’s BBQ It was voted #1 for the last seventeen years and is known for its wet ribs and sandwiches that have been slow cooked over hickory chips til they are fall off the bone tender. It is a casual environment that offers a moderate price menu. With appetizers such as BBQ Nachos and Hot Tamales you will defiantly have to pace yourself to leave room for your entree. The fudge pie and pecan pie is a great ending after a good slab of wet ribs. The can ship their goodness to you by FedEx if you become hooked on your visit to the city.

Interstate BBQ – It was voted as the best small business in Memphis in 2005. Its menu is easy on the budget. It is known for its award winning ribs that have been cooked over hickory-wood. The menu offers BBQ spaghetti, nachos, salads, and turkey. It’s hot wings are also a high point on the menu. The restaurant has a family atmosphere with a moderate price menu.

Rendezous – With its eclectic atmosphere and downtown location it has a menu with plenty of choices to ponder over. Although the menu is on the higher end price scale, it’s dry ribs and sandwiches are to die for. They can also send orders through FedEx to anywhere they deliver.

Three Little Pigs BBQ – It is a BBQ place that sticks to the basics. They have breakfast available 7 days a week. Along with great BBQ sandwiches they have fried apple pies and banana pudding. It is located on Quince.

Top’s BBQ – It has been a staple of Memphis since 1952 and now has locations in Mississippi and Arkansas. This has a low end price menu with great food. There is a location at every corner in Memphis. The BBQ is slow cooked and plated to perfection. They will do ribs by special order that will leave you wanting more.

A&R; BBQ- This is a place that is marvelous in taste and won’t break the bank. Its BBQ is a local favorite that is located in the area of Graceland. They have sandwiches and great sides to match.
