Ashlee Simpson, the younger sister of pop superstar Jessica Simpson, has released two albums of her own since she began her singing career. In my opinion, she sings great music that’s great for listening at just about any time. I will tell you about 10 of Ashlee Simpson’s best songs, what Ashlee Simpson is most likely trying to say through them, and why they are my personal favorites.

1. Pieces of Me
This was the first ever Ashlee Simpson song I heard. It instantly was one of my favorites because it relates to the story of my boyfriend and I. I truly feel that the words she says “When I’m angry, you listen. Make me happy, it’s your mission, and you won’t stop till I’m there,” are words that describe the love of my life.

2. Autobiography
I first heard this song on Ashlee Simpson’s MTV show; it was the theme song for the show. This song is just Ashlee letting the world know small facts and details about her life. I really like the way this song starts, “You think you know me, word on the street is that you do. You want my history, what others tell you won’t be true.”

3. La La
This is just one of those songs that’s great to hear when you want to get pumped up before going out. It really has nothing to say, it’s just a bunch of cool phrases that go along with the beat. I like it, because I like the words “La La” a lot.

4. Shadow
This song hits home with me; it’s a must listen to! It’s how I feel about my younger sister and my older brother, completely. It’s also how Ashlee felt or might still feel about her older sister Jessica Simpson. This is an intense song that will quickly remind you of the person you mostly look up to and envy in your immediate family.

5. Boyfriend
This is one of my top Ashlee songs because it’s full of attitude. In this song she is telling someone that she didn’t steel their boyfriend pretty much. She lets the girl know that she needs to stop messing with her and thinking she’s a boyfriend stealer and instead be mad at the guy for hitting on her.

6. L.O.V.E.
This song is one of my favorites because it’s one that I can jam out to with my girlfriends at any time. I like just driving in my truck with all my friends inside singing this song out loud when it plays on my radio. It’s a very easy song to sing.

7. I Am Me
This is the kind of song that any girl wants to play for an ex-boyfriend who wanted her to change for him. It’s just a great song and it says a lot about Ashlee Simpson. It lets her audience know that she is strong, independent, and not willing to change the way she is for any guy at all.

8. Fall In Love With Me
This song is so beautiful. It’s a bonus track on Ashlee Simpson’s second album, and it’s definitely one of Ashlee Simpson’s songs with the best lyrics. I think anyone one who is falling in love or is in the “honeymoon” stage of a relationship will adore this song.

9. Burnin Up
This is the kind of song that you can use to profess your love for someone; it’s a confession of love. This song is very personalized, obviously, to the way Ashlee may have felt for a boy, and it probably relates to how a lot of young teenage girls feel about their crushes.

10. Dancing Alone
This is Ashlee Simpson letting everyone know that she’s looking for a guy, but she knows what she wants and won’t take less. This is my favorite line from this song, “Nobody’s gonna break my heart and hurt me like they did before.” This song is attitude and independence at the same time.
