Top 10 Mother’s Day Bible Verses for Cards and Letters

What Christian mother wouldn’t love to see a Bible verse on her Mother’s Day card? I know that I, as a mom of ten children, would enjoy seeing any one of the following verses embellishing the front of my Mother’s Day card. I’ve even made suggestions for what I’d like to see on the inside of a Mother’s Day card.

1. Her children arise and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28a (NIV) (Inside: Bless you, Mom.)

2. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Proverbs 31:29 (NIV) (Inside: You surpass them all, Mom.)

3. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John:4 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for teaching me to walk in the truth, Mom.)

4. I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3 (NIV) (Inside: I thank God for you every day, Mom.)

5. I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers. Philemon 1:4 (NASB) (Inside: You’re always in my prayers, Mom.)

6. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for loving me, Mom.)

7. Love is patient, love is kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for your patient, kind love, Mom.)

8. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for loving me with an unfailing love, Mom.)

9. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for doing everything for me in love, Mom.)

10. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (NIV) (Inside: Thanks for teaching me the Scriptures which led me to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, Mom.)

And if you’d like to get a little more verbose, you might try this verse:

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8 (NASB) (Inside: When I think of these things, I think of you, Mom.)

This verse would be appropriate, also:

The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9 (NASB) (Inside: Thanks for being such a great example, Mom.)

Make a Mother’s Day card for your mom today!
