Tips to Help You Get of Back Acne

Acne can be a problem for a lot of people, and acne on your back can also occur which can cause discomfort as well as embarrassment. If you have acne on your back, there are some things you can do to help get rid of the acne as well as cut down on your scars.

An important thing you want to do if you have acne on your back is wash your back regularly. Washing your back regularly with anti-bacterial soap and water is a great way to help reduce the acne on your back and always wash in moderation. If you wash your back too much your skin can become irritated and the pores on your back might become clogged if you wash too hard or too much. When you are doing physical activities that cause you to sweat, you should take a shower before and after the physical activity to help reduce the chances of clogging your pores which will make your acne worse.

While you are in the shower, it would be a benefit to you if you started exfoliating your back. Skin on your back is thicker and could require the use of other cleaning products like a mitt, back loofah, or rough wash cloth. Use different exfoliating items and see which product seems to wash your back the best and use that for your back only. You can experiment with different scrubs and cleaning products like soaps and gels as well to find out which products and soaps are less irritating and work for you. Everyone is different so take a few days with each soap or scrub product and exfoliating product so that you will be able to see if any combination is helping you out and which ones make your back acne worse or cause irritation. Exfoliating is a great way to help clean out pores and help get rid of dirt and debris while smoothing out your skin. Exfoliating should be done lightly because if you exfoliate too hard, then you might cause skin damage, irritation, or possibly leave permanent back acne scars.

If you suffer from acne on your back it is also important to keep the fabrics that touch your back clean. Fabrics like shirts, bras, sweatshirts, and even your bed sheets and pillowcases. To reduce or eliminate your back acne, you should be using hypoallergenic detergent as well as fabric softener which will help cut down the irritation that can be caused by laundry soaps. Keep your clothes washed regularly and never wear the same shirt two times in a row, and when you are involved in sports you should take your sweaty bra or shirts off as soon as you can. If you leave dirty or sweaty clothing on your back, then you are harboring the environment that causes back acne to occur. Remember that acne occurs anywhere that sweat, body oils, and dirt collect to clog your pores, so it is important to always have fresh clothing on as well as fresh fabrics to sleep on to help reduce the chance of your pores getting clogged.

If you have acne on your back it might be a good idea to use a body wash that contains Salicylic Acid, which is an acne deterrent and it will help clear your breakouts. Salicylic Acid is found in many different body washes and scrubs, and can help keep your back clean although using it too much can harm your skin and cause irritation or peeling so always use the Salicylic Acid products in moderation.

Acne on your back can also be helped using products that you can get in your local retail store specifically for acne. To eliminate back acne you need products that you would use for anywhere you have an acne problem, which is something like Clean and Clear or other products that contain the acne-fighting ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide. There are many over-the-counter acne remedy ointments, topical solutions, and creams on the market that might help you. These acne products that contain Benzoyl Peroxide are usually between 10 and 20 dollars, but do help a lot of people with mild or moderate back acne.

If you have severe acne on your back then your best option might just be going to see a dermatologist. Going to see a doctor about your back acne is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about, because you are not the first and you will not be the last to come in needing some treatment. You can get prescriptions for various ointments, topical solutions, and cremes that are stronger and more potent than what can be bought in the store. A doctor can also prescribe pills if needed that are out on the market to help prevent and fight acne, or you can get specialized treatments designed for the severity of your back acne. Going to the doctor to get a treatment for your back acne might be the only solution, usually the more severe cases are the ones that need medical intervention to get rid of the back acne.
