Poulsbo, Washington is also known as “Little Norway” with its Norwegian ambience. This historic town has a fantastic downtown area with much to offer. There are a variety of retail establishments, eateries, and specialty shops to browse in. The atmosphere while walking downtown is pleasant and friendly.

Upon walking in the downtown area, a must stop is Sluy’s Bakery. This bakery is known for its Poulsbo Bread, which is sold throughout the region. The bakery has a fantastically eye-appealing window showcase that entices visitors to step in. I love going here. Once inside, the atmosphere is a brightly lit with large display cases. The available baked items are displayed in a rather “L” shaped arrangement. The display cases, on the left, have a fantastic variety of cookies, pastries, and sweet treats to delight anyone. Samples are available. I like that.

If you are in the market for something creative, visit Dancing Paint Brush. I love this place! It’s near the Sluy’s Bakery. Visitors can paint their own pottery or silver jewelry. There is a variety of unfinished stoneware just aching for your creativity here. It’s fun to browse in here and see what is available. This environment makes for a fun birthday party.
