The Hocking Hills Farmers Market Info – Rockbridge, Ohio

When shopping at the Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market you will find over sixty shops and just as many field vendors. The Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is located in Rockbridge Ohio a short drive from Columbus Ohio on US Highway 33.

The Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is the creation of Roger Shaw, Logan resident. Mr. Shaw has his hands in a variety of development in the Hocking Hills region. He owns the Route 33 diner, The Hocking Hills Bottled Water Company, the Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market. Roger Shaw also owns the building that is home to Weilands jewelry and multiple cabin rentals. Mr. Shaw is an eccentric older man who wears a ridiculously stupid hat nearly all the time. By looking at Roger Shaw you would not be able to guess he is a multi- millionaire. His appearance is like that of most Hocking County residents. He looks like a slob. However he is a nice man. You have to give him credit. Success has not changed Roger Shaw.

The Hocking Hills Farmers Market opened in 1999. When it started out it was a handful of tiny buildings and an outdoor flea market. As this is the only permanent flea market in the area, it was immediately a success. Each year the Hocking Hills Farmers Market expands and attracts new vendors and visitors alike. Now the Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is home to five restaurants, over sixty shops, a hunting and outdoor store, two antique stores, a leather shop and much more.

The Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is especially popular in the summer and fall. The Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is open from April to mid December, every weekend. Business hours are from 9am to 5 pm. On Wednesdays the farmer’s flea market is open with limited vendors and customers, as it is on Fridays also. Roger Shaw’s vision is to have a Farmers Flea Market comparable to Ceasers Creek, a gigantic year round flea market in south west Ohio.

Chances are The Hocking Hills Farmers Market will not grow to that size. In recent times many vendors are packing it up and calling it quits. Many vendors and shop owners frequently complain about the management. The manager is notoriously rude. I do not understand how you could treat so many people badly and keep a job. That is between Roger Shaw and his employees. Maybe he just is not aware of what really goes on at his beloved Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market.

If you are in the Hocking Hills region, you will find the Hocking Hills Farmers Flea Market is a wonderful activity for your family. It is easy to spend the majority of your day browsing the unique shops and field vendor’s booths. If you are interested in setting up with your own goods, outdoors spaces are ten dollars a day. Friday set up is free. It is free to enter the flea market and parking is limited, but free also.
