The Fansite for John Mellencamp Rocks!

The fansite for John Mellencamp is a user friendly, easily navigated wealth of information based on the life and works of the Indiana born rocker. From the moment you log onto www.johnmellencamp.com you are almost always greeted with a new Mellencamp tune enticing you to hear and see more.

Much like the singer himself, this site gets straight to the point. The home page is totally free of clutter. There is not an over abundance of distracting text like you may experience on other similar fansites. It is simple, clean and concise, with just a few lines of text, a picture of John himself and an array of categories to select from neatly displayed at the top of the page.

Each page is decorated with pictures of cool vintage items and electronics like, antique car radios, turntables, TV’s and old trucks. One such truck is plastered with bumper stickers representing some of John’s famous lyrics and songs.

Click onto “News” to learn of upcoming radio and television interviews and performances. Specific dates and times are given for Mellencamp’s appearances on Late Nite with David Letterman, The Tonight Show, etc. You can also read articles and album reviews and sign up for daily emails.

On the “Tour” page you can view concert pictures and video of John and his band. You can also sign up to be in the John Mellencamp fan club named Cherry Bomb after one of his hits off of the Lonesome Jubilee album. You will receive up to date information on future tour schedules and cities.

The “Discs” page displays every single CD John Mellencamp has ever made including pictures of album covers, credits and a link to purchase the album of your choice.

Click “Videos” to view several classic Mellencamp videos from the 1980’s hit Jack and Diane to the brand new song Our Country.

The “Lyrics” section has the words to each and every song John has written in his 30 plus year career. So, if you’re constantly butchering the words to Crumblin’ Down or if you are curious as to how many times the words small town appear in the song Small Town, then this page is for you!

Possibly the most impressive feature of this great site is the “Radio” page. Click to enjoy AM radio or “All Mellencamp” streaming radio which continuously plays special song selections, obscure tunes, tribute albums, radio interviews, acoustic cuts, B-sides, soundtracks and more.

On the “Photos” page click to view pictures of John through the years and take special note of his many hairstyles from the long floppy, eye covering bangs of the eighties to his short and spiky buzz of later years.

Did you know John Mellencamp is an artist? On the “Paintings” page you can view dozens of his incredible, original works of art featuring colorful characters with exaggerated features.

Finally, on the “Store” section of the site you will find a plethora of priceless souvenirs like: tee shirts, hats, books, sheet music, postcards, magnets, framed gold plated CDS and even, believe it or not, a cigarette case.

This site is every “Mellenheads” dream come true. It is jam packed with information, yet extremely organized, fun and easy to explore. Like the man himself – this site rocks!
