The Durabrand Blender – Is it the Blender of Everyone’s Dreams?

Wal-Mart is a frequent stop for anyone on a budget, and that’s where I picked up my new Durabrand Blender. For only $10, it’s the cheapest one I could find- and a blender is a must-have for anyone who needs to pinch pennies. Even though it’s cheaper than the rest, does it work as well? I’ve been craving a blender for years, and after poking around haphazardly, I decided to take the plunge with a minimal amount of savings to spend. Looking at blenders that have been priced $40 and above, I almost did cartwheels and back flips when I found the Durabrand Blender at Wal-Mart for only $10!

Being a bit of a tightwad, but not wanting to waste money on something that doesn’t work, I figured I could afford to cough up the money and take my chances. Bringing it home, I instantly found something I could blend.

I pulled out some strawberries and plain yogurt that I had made, and threw them into my Durabrand Blender. With not as many buttons as the fancy brands, I had my choice to Chop, Mix, Grate, Blender or Liquefy. Not being a gourmet, blender cook- I thought those choices more than fulfilled my minimal blender needs.

I played around with my yogurt, strawberry mixture until it had turned into soup. Thrilled by being the proud new owner of my Durabrand Blender, I just felt the need to play with it for a good chunk of time, it didn’t matter anymore what my strawberry yogurt looked like in the end.

Testing out each of the buttons, and being enthralled by watching the blades spin, I finally settled on the plain, old “Pulse” button.

While all the extra buttons are great on the Durabrand Blender, I’m finding that if I need something blended, I use only the “Pulse” button. So far, my blender has held up well, and I’ve done a lot of blending, chopping, grating and liquefying. My Durabrand blender has taken a beating over the last several months and it’s still blending as it did on day one.

Overall, I have to give my two thumbs up for my Durabrand Blender. I’m incredibly happy with the minimal $10 price tag, and since I generally only use one button, I don’t feel the need to spend upwards of $40 on a “name brand” blender. If you want a great blender, with a fraction of the cost, definitely pick up the Durabrand Blender!
