Ten Uses for Cool Whip

Who doesn’t love Cool Whip? It not only tastes great, but because it’s a non-dairy product it can be enjoyed by people who are lactose intolerant. While you may purchase Cool Whip for your Thanksgiving pies or to make that all important Red, White, and Blue Cake on the 4th of July, there are several other times of the year you could be using this delicious product. In fact, here are ten great uses for Cool Whip.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #1: Easy Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate mousse doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, you can make chocolate mousse by using Cool Whip and instant chocolate pudding. Just prepare the pudding according to the pie filling instructions and once the pudding has set, fold in enough whipped topping to create a fluffy chocolate mousse.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #2: Easy Cherry Cream Pie

Take a graham cracker crust and fill half full with vanilla pie filling. Then add enough cherry pie filling to reach the top of the crust. Top with Cool Whip and you’ve got a delicious and easy dessert that took less than 5 minutes to make.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #3: Delicious Chocolate Parfaits

In tall glass layer pieces of brownies, chocolate pudding, toasted pecans, and Cool Whip, end with the whipped topping. You could also use chocolate cake or you could also add hot fudge sauce to the mix as well.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #4: Decadent Oreo Pie

Use a stand mixer to combine softened cream cheese and powdered sugar, then gently mix in some Cool Whip to lighten the texture. Place the mixture into an Oreo cookie crust, filling it half way full. Then add a layer of chocolate pudding and top with more whipped topping.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #5: Quick Frosting

If you want a truly quick frosting, use Cool Whip. Just be sure to keep the cake in the fridge or the “frosting” will melt.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #6: Delicious Holiday Drink

One of my favorite ways to use Cool Whip around Christmas is to add a big dollop to eggnog along with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #7: Easy Flavored Whipped “Cream”

You can use Cool Whip to make an easy flavored whipped “cream”. All you have to do is use extracts or even melted chocolate that has cooled to room temperature. Simply fold the flavoring into the whipped topping and use in your recipe.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #8: 5 Minute Strawberry Shortcake

In the produce department you can find small sponge cakes as well as strawberry pie glaze. In a large bowl slice your strawberries and then combine with the pie glaze. Take the mixture and fill each of the sponge cakes. Top with Cool Whip and serve.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #9: Pumpkin Mousse Cups

If you want a delicious pumpkin mousse, just use Cool Whip and pumpkin pie filling. Of course, you’ll want to use pumpkin pie filling that doesn’t contain eggs. Just fold the Cool Whip into the pumpkin pie mix until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Ten Uses for Cool Whip #10: Cherry Cheesecake Pie

With a mixer, combine softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and then fold in Cool Whip until the mixture isn’t so thick. Spread the mixture into a graham cracker crust and top with cherry pie filling.
