Tanglewood Festival of Lights – Clemmons, North Carolina

For sixteen years now, Tanglewood Park has professionally displayed a holiday light show to spectators of all ages. Tanglewood Park is located at 4061 Clemmons Road in Clemmons, NC and can be easily reached via Interstate 40. Festival of Lights begins in early November and ends on New Years Day. The light display is open from 6 pm until 11 pm.

Tanglewood has great entrance fees for all light display visitors. Friday through Sunday and Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, the admission is as follows:
Cars, vans and trucks $13, commercial vans, limosuines and small buses $21, motorcoaches and buses $80. Monday through Thursday the rate is slightly cheaper. Cars, vans and trucks $13, commercial vans, limosuines and small buses $16, motorcoaches and buses are still $80.

Many families come out to see the light display at Tanglewood each and every year, so be preapred to wait in a line. While driving through the park, you will need to dim your headlights for optimal viewing of the four mile light display. You will be driving at a very slow pace as you view almost two hundred holiday light displays. Could you imagine setting up over a million twinkling lights for guests to see? In August, workers will begin setting up the lights. Yes, over a million lights will be used for this yearly light display that is sponsored by Chick Fil A.

Whiel driving through, you will come to the big red barn where you can stop for a midway break. Enjoy a hot cup of cocoa or have some cookies while you wait to see Santa. Santa stops in for visits on Thursdays. The red barn has become the home to almost one hundred local artisans and vendors. Everyone is sure to find something that they like while taking this short break. Purchase a marshmallow or two and roast them over the large marshmallow roaster that is set up for all guests to enjoy. There are additional concessions available for purchase as well. Nachos, sandwiches, chips, coffee and other goodies are available for purchase.

If you do not want to drive your car through the holiday light display, reserve a hayride or horse drawn carriage. Hayrides can be rented for the evening for groups of up to 25 adults. The hayrides are pulled by a tractor and you must pay the entrance fee in addition to the reservation fee of $110.00. Horse drawn carriages can be reserved for up to 4 guests and you should reserve your space early, as these fill up quickly. You must pay the entrance fee in addition to the reservation fee of $60.

The light festival is appropriate for kids and adults of all ages. Don’t forget your camera and some festive holiday to music to enhance the mood that the holiday light display at Tanglewood will put you in!
