Super Smash Bros. Brawl Strategy: Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is all things Nintendo. Even the lesser known Hanenbow characters from the Electroplankton game have their own special event match. Here are some tips to help you through the Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event.

Overview
Princess Peach is trying to get some gardening work done but newcomer Captain Olimar wouldn’t leave her alone. The objective of the Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event is to make a flower bloom on the stem to the right. To do so, you must turn all six leafs from the stem to red. Both Princess Peach and Captain Olimar have one stock of life apiece.

Unlocking the Event
The Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event is the 28th event available. You must complete the Subspace Emissary adventure mode in order to unlock it.

Rewards
You will earn the Hanenbow stage by beating the Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event in any difficulty. The event is also a requirement to unlocking Event # 41.

Basic Strategies
Stage
The Hanenbow stage is tricky, especially if it is your first time setting afoot on it. All platforms in this stage are actually leaves. By hitting them, their angles will shift. So make sure you are prepared for it because once you fall down, it is almost impossible to get right back up again.

Another unique feature is the little bugs, Hanenbows. The will go through the middle of the stage, bouncing off leaves in the process. They won’t do any harm and is quite helpful in the Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event since they can change the color of the leaves by themselves.

You must turn all six leaves into a deep red color in order to make the flower bloom on the right-most stem. The other leaves on the stage don’t matter. Leaves turn red when they are hit by you, your opponent or the Hanenbows. After a couple of seconds, they will turn back green again. Therefore, make sure you keep up your attacks.

Enemy
Captain Olimar is quite annoying. So it is recommended to take him out first while leaving the color-changing to the bouncing Hanenbows. Olimar himself is pretty harmless. He is deadly with his Pikmin friends, however. For that reason, jump on him early and often so that he doesn’t pluck anymore Pikmin from the ground.

Moves
Princess Peach special moves are pretty well-balanced. She has short distance, long range, horizontal and vertical attacks. All her moves work pretty well for eliminating Olimar.

For changing the color of the leaves, her full-charged down smash attack works the best. Her Peach Parasol special move is a great way to reach the higher leafs of the stem. It also helps that by the time you are done with Olimar, the Hanebows would already turn most of the leaf on the stem red.

As long as you eliminate Captain Olimar first, you are guaranteed a victory in Flower Blooms in the Echoes Event. You will beat the event in no time.
