Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner – Great Smell, Lousy Rinse

As a married man, I am inundated with all sorts of novel bath and shower products due to my wife’s incessant love for all things bath. Recently my wife picked up a couple of bottles of Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner, which I have subsequently been quite pleased with. Suave Naturals are an attempt to change the perception of Suave’s products from that of a relatively pedestrian shampoo to a more high class designer shampoo. While Suave Naturals are offered in several scents and varieties, Suave Naturals Juice Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner have a very pleasant apple scent that is a pleasant way to wake up in the morning.

As mentioned above, Suave shampoos and conditioners have gone through a significant amount of re-imaging, with sleeker designer bottles and more colorful, trendier product labels. Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner both have an attractive label depicting the products namesake “juicy green apples”. The bottles are significantly more attractive that the older style of Suave shampoo bottles, but I would argue that the bottle is probably the least important aspect when picking out a shampoo. Although the marketing is important from Suave’s perspective, as it may cause someone to purchase Suave over another brand when encountering the bottles on the shelf at the drugstore or supermarket.

As for the shampoo and conditioner themselves, I rather enjoyed most aspects of the Suave Naturals Juice Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner. The distinguishing characteristic of this product is its luscious apple scent, which is a pleasant way to wake up in the morning. My wife tells me that men tend to prefer bath products with food scents, and it appears that the Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner are instances of this general bath product rule. I have indeed found that I gravitate towards those bath products that smell like food, such as the Cleo Brand Chocolate Yogurt Shower Cream Body Wash that I reviewed a while back.

I found when trying the Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner that I enjoyed using the shampoo much more than the conditioner. One of my pet peeves when it comes to shampoos and conditioners are products that do not rinse out of my hair very easily. The Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo was just fine in this respect; it rinsed out very easily and left my hair feeling very clean. The Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Conditioner on the other hand did not rinse out of my hair nearly as easily, and my hair was left feeling like it still had some conditioner residue in it even after a thorough rinsing and when my shower was completed. The scent is equally pleasant in the shampoo and the conditioner, but I find that the Suave Naturals Juicy Apple Shampoo is a better product than its conditioner counterpart.

In conclusion, Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple Shampoo and Conditioner are both very nice smelling products, but the conditioner does not rinse out as well as the shampoo. I do not believe that my wife and I like this product well enough to justify purchasing it a second time, but in the meantime we are enjoying the fresh juicy green apple scent in our morning showers.
