Starbucks Gift Cards Vs. Other Coffee Gift Cards

For so many people in the world coffee and coffee shops have become something of a regular daily occurrence. So giving the gift of a coffee shop gift card is something many people have started to do. Here are my three favorite shops and the advantages and disadvantages of each stores gift card.

Starbucks is one of the worlds leading coffee shop. They offer yummy coffee, cappuccinos and so much more. I happen to love the Starbucks gift card because of all the great and convenient things it offers. You can purchase the Starbucks gift card in the coffee shop, at many retailers nationwide or even online. If you purchase the card online you can even customize it by adding different pictures and words such as “Thank you for a great job!” or “Happy Birthday Michelle!” or anything else you can think of. This really gives your gift a personal touch. The Starbucks gift card can also be reloaded online so there is no need to purchase another card, you just add more money to it. This is a great feature for those who want to send a gift card but many they are worried about it being lost in the mail. All you need to reload it is the card number and you can add any amount you want straight to the card. On top of all that the Starbucks gift card is accepted at any Starbucks so whether you are in the mall and want to grab a cup of coffee or driving down the street and pass a Starbucks you can use your gift card anywhere.

It’s A Grind Coffeehouse also offers gift cards good at all their locations. The only thing I feel is an inconvenience is that in order to purchase a gift card you have to go in to one of their locations to buy one. If your not located near a It’s A Grind Coffeehouse location then purchasing a gift card can be an issue. You also can not reload the gift cards online or view your balance. I love the It’s A Grind Coffeehouse but buying a gift card can be a challenge if you don’t have a location near you.

Tim Horton’s is also another great place to grab a tasty cup of coffee. They have millions of locations to serve you worldwide and the Tim Horton’s gift card is accept at any location you visit. Although unlike the Starbucks gift card you do have to purchase the gift card in the actual location, they are not yet available for purchase online. Although you can reload them and check your balance online, making it a really convenient card once you have it in your hand. A great thing about the Tim Horton’s gift card is that you can register the card online and if you happen to lose the gift card or the gift card is stolen you can call the 1800 number provided on the website, answer a few questions and they will freeze that gift card and add the remaining balance to another gift card for you. It’s nice to know your money is protected as long as you register your card.

So all in all I have to say my favorite gift card is the Starbucks gift card for all the conveniences it provides both in store and online on top of the fact that it can be customized to offer that special touch. Tim Horton’s gift card comes in at a close second and sadly although I love It’s A Grind locations the gift card isn’t one of my favorites.
