Seven Days of Fun in Sacramento, California

I have lived in Sacramento, California for thirty-two years and I love it. There is always something to see and do. There is the nightlife; arts, culture, sports, dining, shopping and a whole lot more. I have made a list of highlights you can enjoy for a weeks worth of stay in Sacramento, California.

Crocker Art Museum. The Crocker Art Museum is located on 216 O Street in downtown Sacramento. They have a wide variety of different types of art ranging from the 15th century through today’s modern art. They change the art around every few months to keep the public coming. They also have museum tour and concerts every month. The cost for the museum is $3 to $6 dollars. The museum is free for children six and under. For more information you can call 916-264-5423.

Sacramento Zoo. The Sacramento Zoo is located on 3930 West Land Park Dr and the phone number is 916-808-5885. The zoo is located at William Land Park. It’s a beautiful zoo with over 32 endangered species. You can see animals such as the monkey, elephant, flamingos, and giraffe. There is a fee for admission.

Fairy Tale Town. The Fairy Tale Town is located on 3910 Land Park Drive and the phone number is 916-264-5233. It is near the Sacramento Zoo. This is a wonderful place to take your children for the day. This is a park that features different fairy tales settings that children can play on. For example, you can see Humpty Dumpty and the Cinderella. Fairy Tale town is open everyday and the fee is between $3.75 – $4.00 dollars.

Sacramento State Capital Museum. The museum is located on 11th and L Street. You can visit the capital for free. You never know you might see our Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. They do offer guided tours everyday from 9am – 4pm on every hour. You can see different memorials such as the Civil War Memorial Grove. The capital is so beautiful. It is decorated with different paintings and vintage furniture. It’s a must see. For more information you can call 916-324-0333.

California State Railroad Museum. The Museum is located on 125 I Street in Old Sacramento. You can call 916-445-6645 for more information. This museum shows how the railroads first began in Sacramento. They have displays of 21 restored trains and cars. The museum is open from 10am – 5pm. The cost is $8 dollars for adults and $3 dollars for children 6-17 years of age.

Delta River Cruise. The Delta River Cruise can be contacted at 916-399-9342. You start at the port of Sacramento and you can cruise all the way to San Francisco. There are day trips that include lunch and beverage. There is even a narrator that comes with the fee of the cruise who will tell you about the history of the Delta.
