Sam Worthington Talks Tinseltown Romances & Women with Cosmopolitan

He’s fresh off of the release of his latest movie “Man On a Ledge,” and Sam Worthington was recently doted with the title of Fun Fearless Man of the Year by Cosmopolitan.

The 35-year-old Aussie actor landed a feature in the magazine’s February 2012 issue to accompany the accolade, in which he spoke about topics such as the toll of Tinseltown on his love life and what he finds confusing about the opposite sex.

Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On whether Hollywood is hard on his love life:
“It can be, yeah. I love my job; I love the world that it is. But I don’t want someone who is just in love with that world. I want to be with someone who’s in love with me, warts and all. And even though I’ve got my faults – I wake up late for my stocks stink – that’s the thing they’re love with.”

On what he does in between roles:
Cook eggs with my girl, sleep in, go for walks, watch crap TV like ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ that kind of stuff – just be normal.

On what confuses him about women:
“That we are polar opposites but can still click, can still be best friends. I like that confusion. If it were always simple, it would be boring.”

It’s one of the most anticipated crime thrillers in recent time, and now “Man on a Ledge” has arrived in theaters (January 27) just in time for weekend moviegoers.

Starring Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks, the Asger Leth film centers on an ex-cop turned con (Worthington) whose desperate to prove that he was framed in a recent diamond heist. Recently escaped from prison and with nowhere else to go, Nick Cassidy climbs onto the ledge of a towering skyscraper, inviting those down in the streets of New York City to watch anxiously as a police negotiator (Banks) tries to talk him out of what would be a lethal jump. Only Cassidy and his brother are aware of his mission and its true purpose, and with time running out, he must execute all of his steps perfectly if he wants to make it off the building alive.

While talking with press about the project, Miss Banks explained, “Really, everything’s in the title. It’s about a man on a ledge, and the people around him who are trying to figure out why he’s on the ledge, and how to get him off the ledge before he falls off and dies.”

Worthington also chimed in, adding, “Good action really comes down to the stakes, what’s at stake, whether it’s rescuing the girl, getting the diamonds or whatever. [The main character] is battling for his life in the ultimate extreme, just on a ledge. He’s on the edge on the ledge. Because the stakes are so high, I think that’s why we can label it a thriller, an action thriller.”
