Review of Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk

Recently I was given 3 products by Dr. Hauschka. I had never before heard of this company, and after receiving the products I immediately had to look them up.

I learned that this company was actually a high end company that sold very effective beauty products. These products by Dr. Hauschka are supposedly so effective that many Hollywood A Listers call them their favorite beauty products.

After learning that a container of Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk will run you anywhere from $29.00 to $35.00, I was excited to give it a try right away. The cleansing milk not only promises to cleanse your face, but it will also remove makeup.

I usually have to use makeup removal pads on my face even after washing, just to get rid of any impurities left behind. If this cleanser was capable of removing my makeup completely I’d be a fan for life. I had a good feeling though that it was not going to rid my face of all of my makeup, especially considering the fact that the cleanser did not have any micro-beads, or exfoliators in it.

The cleansing milk itself is creamy, and after squeezing the nozzle to release some of the cleanser I was surprised at the lotion like texture. It was thick, and more like a facial cleansing cream than a milk.

I was not overly fond of the scent as I began to rinse my face with it. It had a very generic hotel bar soap scent to it, which seemed to smell slightly medicated. I didn’t hate the scent, but it was not the fresh scent I was expecting from the cleanser. Most cleansers I use have refreshing citrus scents to them. Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk smelled more like something a doctor would prescribe. Pun intended.

After drying my face off, my skin did feel really soft, and clean, and I also noticed that my skin was moisturized, which was not something I was expecting from this one. Clearly though, makeup was still on my face, and I had to get off the last remaining traces with a makeup removal pad.

However, even though I had to use a makeup removal pad after using the cleanser, I really loved how it left my skin feeling. It was so soft, and the moisturizing feeling stood with me for a good majority of the day. So yes, even though makeup remained, my skin certainly felt nourished.

Usually I have to use a facial lotion to get the same results, but I was able to completely skip out on applying a facial serum to moisturize the skin. Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk seemed to already have me covered.

Overall:

Although I would have liked the scent of Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Milk to be a little less chemical like, I really enjoyed the feeling left behind on my skin, thanks to this cleanser.

All in all, I probably would not buy this cleanser again, as applying a lotion after cleansing my face is a much cheaper option. If you have the money to burn though, and you are pressed for time in the morning, then I would suggest this one for sure.
