Reno’s Roadhouse In Danville, Kentucky

If you are in the Danville, Kentucky area looking for a great meal, you should stop in Reno’s Roadhouse. Reno’s Roadhouse is located at 1641 Hustonville Road in Danville, Kentucky. It is right on the northeast corner attached to the Country Hearth Inn. We have gone to Reno’s numerous times and have always enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance.

The Food At Reno’s Roadhouse

The food at Reno’s Roadhouse is some of the best food in the area. Tonight we started with the Spanish Rosebud. Reno’s Spanish Rosebud is similar to what many of us know as the bloomin’ onion! It’s a huge onion, fried golden brown and served with a special Reno’s Roadhouse dipping sauce. The Spanish Rosebud came out within just a few minutes of ordering and was nice and hot. In the past, these type of appetizers have been to greasy for my tastes but the Spanish Rosebud was cooked to perfection and not overly greasy. Our party tonight consisted of four adults and two toddlers. All four of the adults were able to nibble on the onion and there was some remaining when we left. On a scale of 1 to 10, overall I would give the Spanish Rosebud a 10, I just don’t know how they could have done it better.

All of us ordered the the sirloin steaks, with two of us ordering the 10oz and two ordering the 7oz. The steaks came out piping hot and were cooked medium, as ordered and perfectly. My husband commented on the impressive taste and quality of the meat, of course he is an avid steak lover. The consensus in our party was that the steaks had a wonderful flavor that tantalized our tastebuds. The size of the steaks were also impressive and all of us had trouble finishing them off, we eventually did of course.

Our orders came with two sides and three of us could not resist the description of the baked sweet potato with brown sugar and butter. We were not disappointed by the baked sweet potato either, it came out better than we could have ever imagined and the sweetness melted in our mouths. The salads were extra large portions and were made with the freshest of vegetables. I ordered the steamed broccoli and it was steamed so perfect I could help but eat the entire gigantic portion that I was served. My husband ordered the coleslaw, which he usually eats just about everywhere, he was unimpressed and said it had a strange sour taste to it.

Our kids are 3 and 4 years old and sometimes we buy them a meal to share but tonight we ended up ordering them each a meal. The meal prices for the kids were about $2-3 each and that does not include the drink. There were child’s meal options including; hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, steak tips, pizza and a few others. My kids chose the hamburger and hot dog and both of them took to go boxes due to the huge portions.

Reno’s also has peanuts at every table and hot buttery rolls are provided with every meal. The rolls come out dripping in butter and usually melt in your mouth. We were not as impressed tonight with the rolls as we had been on previous occasions but they were still tasty. I was happy the rolls did not taste as good as usual because I usually stuff myself with them and tonight I ate only one.

The Service At Reno’s Roadhouse

The last time we came to Reno’s Roadhouse was on Halloween and the servers were dressed up and so much fun. Our service tonight was good, the server was prompt and attentive but she just did not seem as upbeat as I was used to. On the other hand, we were greeted excitedly by the girls at the front door when we arrived and again thanked with the same giddiness when we left. The service was not bad at all but our server needed a little boost in her personality. As I stated, as far as attentiveness and actual service, our needs were met 100%.

The Ambience At Reno’s Roadhouse

Reno’s Roadhouse is a western style decorated restaurant with lots of wood The decor is western and fun. There are booths and tables inside and the spacing of the seating is perfect. I am used to restaurants cramming people in but Reno’s Roadhouse has the tables and booths placed with comfort and easy movement in mind. There is a bar in the back with several T.V’s and a Super Size T.V. in the main dining area. The volume is perfect and it is easy to have a conversation without having to yell. Tonight the Preakness was on T.V. and Reno’s Roadhouse was a great place to watch it.

The best part of Reno’s Roadhouse for the kids was the fact that they give out crayons and coloring mats and peanuts! My kids were able to stay amused with the crayons for about 15 minutes. The peanuts kept my children entertained the rest of the time. The fact that they could crack open the peanuts and then throw the shells on the floor (which is the norm for Reno’s Roadhouse) was amazing and amusing for them. Overall, Reno’s Roadhouse is the best place to eat in the Danville, Kentucky area. In case you were wondering we had: 1 appetizer, 4 steak meals, 2 kids meals, 4 drinks (2 waters), and we skipped on the dessert. Our total came to $79.14 before tip, not bad for such a great meal!
