Red Stripe Jamaican Lager – Beer Review

I am not a huge beer fan. That being said, I do enjoy beer from time to time when I am having a party or having a few people over for dinner or a movie. One of my favorite beers is Red Stripe Jamaican Lager. I find that Red Stripe beer works well on my palate without being too strong, too bitter, or too overwhelming.

Red Stripe is a Jamaican lager beer brewed in Jamaica. This beer has been brewed, in various forms, since 1928, although according the Red Stripe website the recipe has been improved upon and tweaked over the years. The current form of Red Stripe beer is crisp and light, without being too bland as a lite beer would be. Despite its light consistency, Red Stripe beer is flavorful and complex without being overwhelming as a stronger beer such as Guinness might be for casual drinking.

One of the most distinctive features of Red Stripe beer is its bottle. The Red Stripe beer bottles are short and squat, lacking the traditional long neck of most modern beer bottles. The Red Stripe bottles are nearly glass cylinders with a bottle cap. Because the Red Stripe beer bottles have such a distinctive shape, they can make an interesting statement at a social gathering such as a party or sporting event. The Red Stripe beer label, as the name indicates, shows a distinctive red stripe across across its face.

Red Stripe used to be more difficult to find in supermarkets than it is now. I recently bought some Red Stripe beer for a professional wrestling party I was hosting. While the beer itself was a big hit, I was glad to find Red Stripe beer at my local Safeway store in Campbell, CA. While I can usually only drink a single beer at one sitting, the Red Stripe beer was a hit at the party, both for those who had never tried Red Stripe and for those who know and love it well.

Red Stripe beer uses a traditional bottle cap, so be sure to have a bottle opener handy to open your Red Stripe beer bottles. This may seem like an obvious point, but forgetting to have a bottle opener and not being able to open beer bottles are not good ways to make impressions on party guests or company. Presumably anyone who is already a beer fan knows this, but beer newbies may forget this important detail.

In conclusion, Red Stripe Jamaican Lager beer is a flavorful beer that is neither too strong nor too weak. It comes in an attractive short bottle and is really brewed in Jamaica. You can probably find Red Stripe beer at your local supermarket, as it is getting easier to find than it used to be. The Red Stripe beer itself has a golden color that reflects its origin and its delicious golden flavor.
