Product Review: Spa Sensations Memory Foam Four Inch Mattress Topper

My husband and I have been complaining for the six months about the Miralux mattress we bought, it’s too hard, and just is not comfortable to sleep on. We both agree we really don’t want to spend the money on a new mattress, since we just bought this one, but sleeping on it is just miserable for us. Finally we decided to give a Memory Foam mattress topper a try, thinking that maybe the extra padding would make our mattress more bearable.

We decided upon a Spa Sensations Memory Foam Four Inch Mattress Topper. The box claims “Our Spa Sensations Mattress Topper literally rejuvenates your current mattress and is designed to give you the ultimate nights sleep by gently cradling your entire body so you feel weightless, pressure-free support. Made of 100% superior quality memory foam, our topper molds to your body’s own individual shape, weight, and temperature.” The mattress topper cost $129.98 for a Queen Size Topper, which is still cheaper than a new mattress. Spa Sensations also makes a two inch topper that retails for around $50 to $60 and an eight topper that retails for around $289. The Spa Sensations Memory Foam Mattress Topper also comes with a five year warranty.

When we got the mattress topper home, and opened the box we found the mattress topper vacuum sealed into a plastic bag. When we opened the bag there was a very bad odor, according to the instructions the odor was normal, and it would go away after a few hours, which it did. The mattress topper was also very thin and hard when we unpackaged it, and we worried that we weren’t going to be happy with it. My husband suggested that since it was vacuum sealed in a plastic bag, and stuffed into the box, that the mattress would swell up. I even wondered if maybe someone had switched boxes putting a two inch mattress topper into a four inch box, I worked retail years ago, and wouldn’t put it past some people. As my husband had suggested within a couple of hours the mattress topper swelled to its correct size.

When we woke up the next morning my husband commented that he had slept better than he had slept in months, and that he was thrilled with the mattress topper. I on the other hand, sleep great on the mattress topper as long as I stay laying on my back, when I turn onto my side the memory foam on the mattress does not provide support to my lower back but my husband disagrees, saying the foam contours to his lower back.

In conclusion I would recommend the Spa Sensations Memory Foam Mattress Topper to those looking to give their mattress some more life, or those who were unable to purchase a full-size memory foam mattress.
