Product Review: Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Renegerating Cream

According to the Olay website at http://www.olay.com, Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream will intensely hydrate and beautifully regenerate your skin’s appearance. The website goes on to say “Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream uses our exclusive amino-peptide complex, which combines vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5 and Olay moisture in a rich, non-greasy formula. It visibly regenerates skin’s appearance and intensely hydreates dry skin. The unique dispensing pump delivers a fresh, clean application every use. Suitable for everyday use for normal, dry and combination skin. The results? Younger looking skin without drastic measures. Instantly the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is softened and skin’s texture is improved. Over time your skin’s appearance will be beautifully regenerated. Use alone or create your own regimen with other Regenerist skin care products”.

I’ve never been one to spend a lot of money on the higher priced skin care items such as Lancome, Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc. But I had heard some good things about Regenerist products, and their website certainly makes the product sound like a dream come true, so I decided to splurge and spend my hard earned $18 and give this product a try.

On the back of the bottle, it says “Olay Renegerist doubles skin’s surface cell regeneration rate vs. untreated skin, for a younger looking skin without drastic measures”.

Directions for use on the back of the bottle: Pull overcap. Peel protective seal off top of package. Gently push down on top of package to dispense product from center of package. Wipe product with fingertips and smooth evenly over face and neck. Use one of twice daily, alone or under make-up.

Here are my pros and cons on the product.

Pros:

– The cream is a nice peachy pink color, pleasing to the eye.

– I love the silky creamy texture of the cream.

– After using for 1 week, my face is incredibly soft and silky to the touch.

– After using for 2 weeks, the blotchy red areas on my skin are starting to even out.

– After using for 3 weeks, some of the fine lines around my mouth and eyes are fading.

– After using for 1 month, people are telling me that my skin looks different and “glowing”.

– After using for 2 months, my age spots are fading.

Cons:

– The product comes in a 1.7 oz container but the black retail box it comes in makes the bottle look much bigger than the actual size of the bottle, so I was a bit disappointed in that.

– It has a light scent, which I didn’t really like. I personally do not like scent in my face cream – when you smear something directly under your nose you tend to smell it all day long.

– My face feels sticky for about an hour until the cream had soaked in.

– There is no SPF protection for daytime.
I have to say for $18 this product is worth the cost and I recommend it to others who are looking for a good product without spending a ton of money.
