What was once an old home, now serves as Bailey & Cato, serving fall off the bone ribs and some of the best fried chicken you will ever taste. Although there is an area for dining, most choose their meal to go. Employees are friendly, down to earth, and know how to pile a plate of great southern style food. Macaroni and cheese, catfish, yams, green beans, meatloaf, and mouth watering cornbread are also served. Two people can eat (and have leftovers) for less than $20.

Swett’s Restaurant

Swett’s is a Nashville tradition, often with lines around the corner waiting to get their share of the homemade goodies made with plenty of TLC. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, catfish, BBQ ribs, and more are served cafeteria style at Swett’s. Be sure to try a dessert such as the peach cobbler. The cornbread is some of the most melt in your mouth cornbread you’ll ever have the pleasure to taste.

Muddea’s Chicken and Waffles

Bringing the 1930’s Harlem tradition of chicken and waffles, Muddea’s offers a small menu of just four combinations, but they are served with a great variety of styles, and are presented elegantly. However, refills do cost, unless you are drinking water. Service is fast and friendly.

You can get one of the best breakfast’s in Nashville at Monell’s, with real gravy, real grits, and homemade, melt in your mouth biscuits. You are treated like family at Monell’s, and dinner is served with all of the southern hospitality expected.
