Monster Hitman Energy Shot

I am a connoisseur of energy shots and have come across this new energy drink from Monster called Hitman. My first thought was it had to be good as Monster is a well known energy drink company. The name Hitman gave me the impression that you would be on your top level throughout the night. I was wondering if this shot was just another hype from a largely advertised company or could it actually deliver? Or, relatively speaking, is it a shot with the name but no game.

The packaging of the energy shot is definitely different, it is slim and on the tall side. The background coloring is black, with the Monster letter M on top of a snipers scope cross hairs. They refer to this drink being an energy shooter. The packaging is not too advertised as you would expect from a large company, you actually do not see any slogans like some of the larger known energy shot companies. The size is a little big for an energy shot, they packed in 3 ounces into a little bottle.

The shot is a very bright green color. Upon pouring this shot you will think you have poured some antifreeze out. The taste of the shot is a little on the sour side, it is a little more potent that a normal Monster brand energy drink. The flavor starts out as if you were drinking the original monster energy drink, but ends with an after taste of a very sour sugar syrup blend. The ingredients are 2000 mg of Taurine, 400 mg Ginseng, and 200% of your DV of B2, B3, B6, and B12. The rest is hidden in a “energy blend” of Glucose, L-Carnatine, Caffeine, Inositol, Guarana, glucuronalactone, and maltodextrin. The energy shots ingredients are what they typically put into the regular size drinks. The shot has 30 calories, 7 grams of carbs, and 6 grams of sugar.

The shot does not give you a jittery type buzz, but will definitely let you know you have a kick in energy. I was working a long work week and was very tired. I slammed down the shot and within 5 minutes I was no longer tired and could barely stand still. I had the drive to want to start moving around, and would have ran a marathon if one was available in the area at the time. The kick lasts for 5 good hours, it definitely keeps up with 5 hour energy. Their was no crash felt with this shot!

If you are looking for a kick in energy this shot has it all! Monster definitely has made a shot to put ‘5 Hour Energy’ in it’s place. You can expect to pay around $2.25 per shot, if you are looking for a cheaper shot check out my write up on Crakshot energy. This shot is very close in comparison to Crakshot!
