A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Little Debbie Star Crunch snack cookie for the first time. For years, I had seen this outer space themed item stocked on Little Debbie display racks, but had never eaten one.

This treat seems like a good item to review, so presented here, is one food writer’s product review of Little Debbie Star Crunch snack cookie.

It has long amazed me how Little Debbie products can be so inexpensively priced, when comparative name brand products retail for two or three times more.

The suggested retail price that is printed on the front label of the Little Debbie Star Crunch is just $0.50c. Being a bargain minded shopper, I am always looking for economically priced food items and a fifty cent snack cake certainly fits that description.

At Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets, the regular retail price charged for one 13 ounce box of Little Debbie Star Crunch snack cookies is approximately $1.79.

Texture / Consistency
This large snack cookie features a pretty unique texture. At first, I thought this item was a snack cake, but it is described as a cookie by the manufacturer.

A soft and chewy cookie is at the core of the Little Debbie Star Crunch. The cookie is topped with crisp rice and caramel, then a layer of fudge tops the entire item.

The overall mouth feel offered by this snack cookie is quite interesting and pleasant.

This snack cookie features several different, distinct flavors; cookie, crisp rice, caramel and fudge. When I ate this cookie, which I thought was a snack cake until I saw the word cookie on the product’s rear label, I tasted the various flavors, but did not taste any definitive overall flavor.

My favorite part of this snack is the fudge covered crisp rice. It reminds me of a famous chocolate crunch candy bar. The caramel flavor is somewhat subtle and works well with the fudge and crisp rice. The cookie at the center of this treat does not seem to offer a very identifiable flavor, but overall the Little Debbie Star Crunch tastes pretty good.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of eight.

Little Debbie Star Crunch is packaged in a clear plastic wrapper. The front label features a black background with twinkling stars and blue and yellow lettering and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information. The package opens easily, but does not necessarily re close effectively.

Overall Rating
This large snack cookie features a pleasant flavor and a crispy texture. Very inexpensively priced, the Little Debbie Star Crunch is normally stocked and sold at food retailers across America.
