This ninety bed facility is one of the cleanest facilities you will ever walk into. Liberty employs a housekeeping staff that takes pride in keeping the facility extremely clean. In fact, I have heard people say many times that Liberty is the only nursing home they have been in that actually smells good. The floors are constantly being cleaned and buffed and each room is thoroughly cleaned several times throughout the day.

The Nursing staff at Liberty is rivaled by no other facility. They hire only the best and most qualified nurses and nursing assistants. The nursing staff at Liberty Commons not only do their “job” they also build loving relationships with the residents and their families. They dress and carry themselves in a professional manner. The nursing assistants keep the residents clean and appropriately dressed at all times which is very important for the residents dignity. The well trained nurses make sure that each resident receives their medication on time and they keep any dressings clean and changed as directed. This is very important for the health and well being of your family member.

The Rehabilitation Center at Liberty Commons is truly amazing. When alot of residents come in to the rehab center at Liberty they often times cannot walk by themselves and some cannot feed themselves or even sit up without assistance. These patients go to the physical therapy department on a regular basis where they re-learn to do things for themselves so that they can return home, either alone or to live with family members. The physical therapy at Liberty Commons is “top-notch”. It is amazing to see a resident come into the facility in a wheel chair and walk out several weeks or months later. It is important to all of us to be able to live in our own home as long as we can and this is what the physical therapists at Liberty do their best to achieve for their residents.

Another important thing to consider when choosing a nursing home is the activity department. It is imperative that these residents live as normal a life as they can even in a nursing facility. The activity department at Liberty Commons tries to do just that. You will find that residents at Liberty enjoy going out to eat at such places as Wink’s BBQ and Blue Bay. Recently the residents were taken on a trip to Tinseltown to see a movie. They have also enjoyed trips to the Lazy 5 Ranch. Not all of the residents can (or want) to go out. That does not mean they won’t have fun. The activities calender is filled with activities for seven days a week. They do everything from playing bingo to having penny auctions and even live entertainment. An Elvis impersonator has even been to Liberty. Don’t forget the birthday parties! Every single month the activities department throws a birthday party for all the residents who have a birthday that month. Everyone is invited for cake ice cream and punch (yes, there is sugar free for the diabetics). There is always a worship service on Sunday for any and all who wish to attend.

Liberty Commons also keeps their residents looking great by providing an in house beauty parlor. Two days per week a professional comes in to give the residents perms, color, cuts or maybe just a wash and set. Whatever the resident and their family wants is what they will get. The beautician does a wonderful job at keeping the residents looking their best.

The rooms at Liberty Commons are nice size and have two beds per room. However, you may want your loved one in a room of their own, that’s why Liberty offers private rooms. These rooms are big and all of the private rooms are on one hall which ensures even more privacy.

The kitchen staff at Liberty Commons also does their part. They are there bright and early to make sure that everyone gets a fresh hot breakfast. The kitchen staff is also there for more than just meals. If a resident gets hungry between meals they will gladly prepare a snack for that resident. Snacks are always prepared for the folks that like to have a little something before bed. There are sandwiches, cookies, graham crackers, fresh fruit, juice and so much more for the residents to choose from. Every meal is hot and well balanced not to mention tasty!
