Justice League of America Vs. Gozer the Gozerian Part 1: Introduction and Original Form

I never got into writing fan-fiction. I read a few here, and tinkered around with ideas for some of my own, heck I even opened up an account on fanfiction.net, but I just never got around to writing them. One idea that I brainstormed the most was a story that pit DC Comics’ Justice League against Gozer the Gozerian, the main antagonist from Ghostbusters. While the story will never get written, I thought it would be fun to imagine how the confrontation would play out.

Now, just as we did with Broly, we’ll be using the “big 7” seen in the animated series (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl).

I want to start by pitting the group against Gozer’s initial female humanoid form. It’s tough to say how the fight would go as we never really see Gozer engage in combat, thus there’s no way to measure its speed or strength. We do know that it can evade proton streams fairly easily, but that slow flip she did wouldn’t work out the way it did in the film, as the heroes would go on the offensive while Gozer was still stuck in its own trajectory.

Beyond that, all we really know is that Gozer can shoot powerful beams of lightning from its fingers. The beams were capable of sending the Ghostbusters flying back several yards, but I suspect that it won’t be quite as effective against this group of foes. That’s not to say that it would be useless. Batman, and probably Hawkgirl, would get sent flying back, just as the Ghostbusters were. The beams would cause Superman no small amount of pain as this is power unleashed by a god. It probably does fall under the category of “magic”, but even if it doesn’t, I have to figure that it’s enough raw power that even he would feel it. Green Lantern could raise a force field, but I have a hard time believing that a human can overpower the will of a god, so while it might buy a few seconds, it would eventually crack under the pressure.

The other heroes might emerge from this part of the confrontation unharmed. Flash could dodge the blasts, Wonder Woman’s bracelets can deflect or absorb the brunt of the attack, and Martian Manhunter could simply “phase out” and let it go right through him. I could come up with justifications for their defenses not being good enough, but that would just be speculation on my part.

Coming up in part 2 is round is the second round of this battle royale, the main event, the Justice League of America vs. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Start placing your bets now.
