Joe’s Pizza in Abilene, Texas: A Review

Are you a pizza lover and looking for some authentic Italian pizza? If so, eat at Joe’s Pizza, located at 4460 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, Texas, for the best tasting pizza anywhere in Texas. Here is what you can expect when you eat at Joe’s Pizza:

Large selection. When you approach the counter at Joe’s Pizza, you quickly see an array of pizza, calzone and other Italian dishes behind a glass shield. You just tell the counter attendant what item you want and how much. The cook will dish your order up and pop it in the oven to heat it for you. If you’re worried about freshness, don’t be. Joe’s Pizza makes every item fresh daily and makes more as they run out. You can even watch the cook making food items while you wait for your food.

Counter ordering. Your ordering at the counter and getting your own drink helps Joe’s Pizza hold down the cost you pay to dine at this restaurant. You don’t have to worry about getting a server’s attention or even tipping a server. You do have to get your own drink refills, though. You don’t necessarily have to dump your own tray, but Joe’s Pizza does appreciate your effort in doing so. The one bad point about this pizza restaurant is that they sometimes fail to wipe down the tables, so you might find yourself hunting down a clean area to eat in during peak hours.

Fair prices. Joe’s Pizza in Abilene, Texas offers the best Italian food for the best prices anywhere in Abilene, Texas. You can buy pizza by the whole or by the slice. A slice of pizza costs around $2, and you get a huge slice. If you think you can handle two pieces, go ahead and try. Chances are, though, you won’t make it through your second slice. If you do, you’ll be miserably full because Joe’s Pizza serves up generous pizza portions. If you can’t finish your second piece of pizza, ask for a piece of aluminum foil or a to go box and take it home for later.

Informal environment. Just past the ordering area at Joe’s Pizza, you’ll find the dining area, but you won’t likely feel comfortable here. The customers look up as you enter, but they treat you with indifference, rather than extend friendliness. You won’t likely experience good, old West Texas friendliness in this restaurant. Too, the help speaks in another language, so this leaves you out of the loop unless you understand the language they speak. Altogether, though, you’ll be happy with the food you get at Joe’s Pizza in Abilene, Texas. You can order out by calling 325.795.1115.
