How to Clean Up a New Computer

You might be thinking why anyone would need to clean up a new computer. Well, if you ever bought a brand new computer, you would know that the new computer is almost always loaded with a whole lot of extra software. Some of the software includes mostly OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) trial version bundles and other third party freeware and trial ware. Computer companies add this in the computer as a “cherry on top” to further convince you to purchase their brand over their competitors. The worse part about it is that most, if not all, of the software is trial version only. All this extra software is just a waste of disk space and memory. You probably won’t even use a lot of the preloaded software. The software bundle that is included in every brand new pc could even affect system performance. I would advise that you to remove each and every un-necessary preloaded software manually. If you don’t know how to do that, you can search how to on the internet or in the windows help section. There is also a free utility application that I recommend to basic users called, “PC Decrapifier”. This free tool will automate the process for the not so advanced users that need a little visual guidance. Here’s How to Clean Up Your New Computer, with PC Decrapifier…

Step 1

First, download The PC Decrapifier at: http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/download. After the software is downloaded on your computer, run the executable, there is no installer for the PC Decrapifier.

Step 2

After you click past the welcome, license, & warning screens, you will be asked if you are running PC Decrapifier on a new computer. Click “Yes” or “No”

Step 3

The next screen will ask you if you want to create a restore point. This is a good idea, just incase you make a mistake and need to revert back to the original state that your computer was in before Decrapifiying it.

Step 4

The next screen will display all the programs (software) that automatically load upon start up of your computer. Simply check the programs you want to remove and hit “Next”.

*Note: If you want your computer to start up faster, I recommend not having a lot of programs to load at start up. You can modify this in the options and settings features in any program.

Step 5

Before proceeding, you will be prompted with a warning screen to confirm the changes prior to them being made.

Step 6

You will see a display of all the applications installed on your computer, check the applications that you believe you don’t need, and select “Next”.

Step 7

You will be asked to confirm changes just like in step 5. Click “OK” if you are sure.

Step 8

PC Decrapifier will now uninstall each software application you selected. Now you will have a cleaner system and a higher performance.
