Household Items That Eliminate Athlete’s Foot

There are many ways to eliminate or treat athlete’s foot. You can go the expensive route and purchase a lot of over the counter medications to stop the burning and itching symptoms of athlete’s foot or you can try these inexpensive, readily available household items to get rid of athlete’s foot. First, you can try some Arm & Hammer Baking Soda with water to help eliminate athlete’s foot. Mix a little water to the baking soda to make a paste. Rub the paste between your toes and other affected areas, let it sit for about five minutes and rinse. Gently dry your feet with a clean cloth. Try this household item daily. The next household item is Clorox bleach. Mix ½ cup of Clorox bleach in a gallon of water and soak your feet for about fifteen minutes twice a day until it eliminates the athlete’s foot fungus.

If you are suffering from athlete’s foot, make sure your feet stay dry. Wet feet causes the athlete’s foot fungus to worsen. You can use a hand held hair dryer to dry your feet before putting on shoes and socks. Next, try using Dr. Bonner’s Peppermint Soap when washing your feet. After you wash your feet with the household item, dry your feet and apply a dash of the soap as a lotion to help eliminate athlete’s foot. You can apply this treatment daily. Pour some Heinz White Vinegar in a bin full of water and soak your feet for ten minutes everyday for several weeks. The acid in the vinegar will help kill the bacteria and fungus that cause athlete’s foot.

Sprinkle some Kingsford’s Corn Starch on your feet and in your shoes to absorb moisture and help cut down on bacteria build up. You can also fill two Ziploc storage bags with the cornstarch and stick your feet in the bags. Try washing the affected areas with a cup of Listerine a day. Yes, it will definitely sting but the antiseptic is working to kill the fungus and eliminate athlete’s foot. You can also try Morton Salt. Add eight teaspoons of Morton salt to one quart of warm water and soak your feet for ten minutes everyday until your athlete’s foot is gone. Salt works to kill the fungus. Lastly, mix ¼ cup of Pine-Sol into a bin of warm water and soak your feet for ten to fifteen minutes everyday until the itching and burning is gone. Rubbing some Preparation H on your feet and in between your toes will also help to relieve the itching.
