Homemade Treatments to Get Rid of Skin Tags

My grandmother called them “Hoodles.” In the medical world, they’re referred to as being “Cutaneous Papilloma” or an “Acrochordon.” But you probably know them better as being “Skin Tags.” These small outgrowths of skin can pop up anywhere on your skin. Mainly, you’ll find them on your eyelids, neck, armpits, chest and groin areas. Although skin tags are normally benign, they can detract from your overall appearance. You can visit your doctor about removing any skin tags you may have, but, this approach can be costly. Especially if you have no healthcare insurance to cover it. Or, you can usually remove them yourself safely at home. Read this article and find out some effective, homemade treatments to get rid of skin tags!

Removal is the Easiest, Fastest Homemade Treatment
1. To get rid of most skin tags, you can safely remove them at home by using a pair of sharp, sanitized nail clippers. (Skin tags that are located on the eyelids should only be removed by a medical professional.) Make sure that you dab some rubbing alcohol on the skin tags first with a clean cotton ball. Also, rub some alcohol on the blades of the clippers before you begin. If you’re worried about pain, rub an ice cube on the skin tag to numb the area beforehand. Then, carefully snip it off at the base, being careful not to cut the skin around it. If the skin tag is located on your body in a place you can’t reach, have your significant other, or a trusted friend, do it for you.

After the skin tags is removed, dab a bit of rubbing alcohol on the area. Then, keep it clean until the area heals. If there is a small amount of bleeding, apply a Band-Aid®.

If you don’t have a pair of nail clippers handy, then sterilize and use a small pair of sharp scissors instead.

You can also remove skin tags by using a strong piece of sewing thread. To use this homemade treatment to get rid of skin tags, wrap a short piece of thread around the base of the growth. Pull the thread tightly, then tie it into a knot.

In a couple days, the skin tag should turn black and fall off because of the lack of blood supply. Keep the area clean until it completely heals up.

2. Use Natural Bloodroot to Get Rid of Skin Tags
An herb known as “Bloodroot” is known for its ability to eradicate some types of skin growths. Bloodroot, which gets its name for its reddish color, can be found in a powder or a paste form at your local healthfood store. In order to achieve the best results, read and follow the package directions.

To use Bloodroot, place it directly on the skin tag. Then, cover it with a small Band-Aid® to hold the herb in place.

Remove the bandage and check the skin tag in two days. Place another dab of Bloodroot on if needed, and place a clean Band-Aid® on it. Repeat these steps every two days until the skin tag is gone.

And finally, if you notice that a skin tag has grown in size or has changed colors, don’t use any kind of homemade treatment to get rid of it. Instead, visit your medical doctor for professional advice.
