Home Depot Better 2″ Trim Paint Brush

On Monday I painted our garage, and the brush that I used for trim work was a 2 inch straight edge brush. I had a hard time getting the bristles into corners and getting a straight line along ceilings, baseboards and door trim. Because of that, I picked up a much nicer paint brush at my local Home Depot store for painting our laundry room.

The brush that I purchased is distributed by Home Depot stores, and this one is a “Better” 2 inch angled brush, which can be used for all types of paints, and the brush is intended to be used for close up trim work.

The Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush was perfect for my painting job! It comes in a cardboard case that has a Velcro closure which can be reused as a case, which protects the brush. It is made in China.

When it comes to painting, I will buy almost anything, within reason, to make the job easier. I hate to paint! This Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush has a long handle, it measures 7 1/8″ in length, and is made of solid wood, which is stained a light cherry or mahogany color. The bristles are covered with a silver metal, which is also angled like the bristles. The length of the bristles measures 2 1/2″, and they are a light blond color.

The Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush is a great brush for the price ($7.00). There were many similar brushes at Home Depot that cost as much as $11-$12, but this one served me well. The bristles are nice and thick, and this brush holds a lot of paint. The angle of the bristles are perfect for getting into corners or other tight spaces, and they also helped me to cut in the paint at the ceilings and along the base boards.

One of my pet peeves about using inexpensive paint brushes is the fact that they sometimes shed their bristles, which then get stuck either on the wall or on my paint roller. As I used the Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush, I did not find one loose bristle – and I was painting for a solid four hours. I’d say that is evidence of a quality paint brush!

I was using an interior latex based paint, and I cleaned the Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush immediately after use, rinsing it with warm water. If you use an oil based paint, you will need to clean up this brush using a paint thinner. The brush should not be soaked in any type of solvent.

There is a generous sized hole at the end of the handle, which allows you to hang this brush up if you so desire. There is a SKU number on the handle, which reads 463 989. To conclude, this Home Depot Better 2″ Angled Brush is a quality brush, and it works great for all kinds of trim work, and it will not break the bank.
