Employees across the world are faced with the unenviable task of doing more with less. In today’s business world companies are doing a great job of filtering the Internet to eliminate sites that feature games (among other things).

However with a little help you can find some websites you are permitted to visit that can help get you through the day. These few websites can help you recharge or forget the world around you, at least for a little bit of time. Some you know, some you may not, but all are guaranteed to take precious minutes off that clock.

Streaming some ridiculous video can ease the stress of day to day activities. You tube offers millions of videos available for viewing. Even those great music videos are here. I put the big three of social media together due to the fact they are basically the same thing. Spending a few minutes updating your profile or responding to requests can help cool your head. You may even get a laugh or two. Twitter, Facebook and Myspace allow us to catch up with people we may have actual contact with in the first place. These really beat being trapped in the lunchroom by that coworker who has done everything and loves to talk about it. If you do not have a profile, start one and get involved.

Want some new stuff? Maybe even some slightly used stuff? Take a few minutes to check on those auctions or preview coming releases. Let’s face it, the reason you are at work is to get some nice stuff anyway. Does your boss actually expect you to do your shopping on your own time? Ebay and other shopping sites is a great way to get whatever you are looking for at a price you can live with.

Blogger or other blog site

Have a blog? Need to set one up? If you have a desire to do some blogging take a few minutes and get those updates going. Maybe even check out the layout and fine tune your pages appearance. Blogger and other blogging site offer a way to express yourself with freedom.

Whether you want to check out reviews for that movie you have been dying to see, want to comparison shop for that new television, or just want to hang out in the social network world, there are ample places to do that from the comfort of your desk or office. The best part is, as long as you are at your desk, everyone thinks you are working. Be sure not to do too much of the above mentioned tasks, everyone will think you are working too much!!
