Give the Gift of World Peace

Did you have a difficult time finding the right gifts for your significant others this holiday season? Did you resort to giving out fruitcakes? Gift cards? Or did you get busted for the ultimate holiday faux pas-the regifted gift? Snap out of your holiday funk and start the new year off right by giving the ultimate gift-world peace! That’s right-it isn’t too late to repent for your holiday sins by giving a gift that the entire world will appreciate!

How does one give world peace if a decent Christmas gift was too big a challenge? It’s easy, but time is running out, so you have to act quickly. Go to your local Supervisor of Elections web site and register Republican to vote for Ron Paul in the upcoming primary election.

Is it really that easy? Yes! Ron Paul’s libertarian philosophy is based on the “non-aggression axiom”, which states that aggression is inherently illegitimate. Instead, he favors a strong national defense, in-line with the Constitution and the advice of the founding fathers. Paul often refers to the “Christian Just War Theory” to explain the rationale for his foreign policy. This theory states that war should only be declared in response to an ongoing threat, if there is an actual chance of success, when all other options have been exhausted, and the reaction must be a similar show of force to the original act of aggression. Paul rejects the Bush Doctrine-the oxymoronical notion of “bombing for peace” or “preventive war”.

Isn’t that a naive foreign policy for such a dangerous world? That seems to be the narrative repeated by all other GOP candidates and the establishment media. It certainly isn’t the opinion of the experts though. Michael Scheuer, former Director of the CIA’s Bin Laden Counter-Terrorism Unit, advocates Paul’s foreign policy. The primary reason Scheuer advocates this non-interventionist foreign policy is the concept of “blowback”-the unintended consequences of foreign operations that were deliberately kept secret from the American public. Another former CIA Agent, Chalmers Johnson, explains that this is done so that when the retaliation comes, the American public cannot make the cause-and-effect connection between the two.

Does that mean Ron Paul “blames America” for 9/11? Not at all. he simply rejects the “straw man” argument that terrorists attack us “because we’re free and prosperous” in favor of the opinion of the CIA and the 9/11 Commission Report. Common sense suggests that people are more likely to resent American foreign policy because it includes propping up cruel dictators, incessant bombing, and starvation of innocents through the use of sanctions and blockades (preliminary acts of war).

Is Ron Paul really the only candidate who espouses a non-interventionist foreign policy? President Obama ordered the fruitless troop surge in Afghanistan and the bombings in Pakistan and Libya. Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Bachmann, and Huntsman have all but guaranteed war with Iran; in spite of a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stating that she does not possess a nuclear weapon nor the capacity to obtain one in the near future.

As a United States Air Force veteran, who served during the Korean conflict, Ron Paul understands the seriousness of war and its consequences on soldiers, their families, and the American taxpayer. As a strict Constitutionalist, he would not send our troops into harm’s way without a Constitutionally-mandated, declaration of war by the people through their elected representatives in the Congress. Find out why the troops give more donations to Ron Paul than all other Republican candidates combined. Google “Ron Paul” and take the time to understand why his non-interventionist foreign policy is in the best interest of every man, woman, and child in this country and abroad. Then register Republican, and give a meaningful gift in 2012-world peace.
