Five Types of Beautiful Vinyl Flooring

There are many types of vinyl plank flooring so choosing the best type for you is dependent on what type of wood grain you are looking for, what color wood grain, and the width of the boards. Most vinyl plank flooring has the same type of finish and installation process, so when shopping for the flooring, consider aesthetics, and price. Here are a few different companies that offer different style boards to help you narrow down your search.

1. Mannington Floors

Mannington floors have an incredibly easy installation method. All that needs to be done when installing a Mannington Floor is locking one plank into another plank. There is no gluing required and the floors can be installed right over the top of almost any other surface. Mannington Floors offers an array of different styles. Some of their wood emulations are spalted Georgia maple, butterscotch oak, vintage oak espresso, Burma teak spice, Essex oak honey, coolibah burl wood, summit hickory olive wood, Canadian maple, and summit hickory mesquite, just to name a few.

In terms of pricing, most plank types cover about $3.99 per square foot. At $79.80 per carton, you can expect the flooring to cover about 20 square feet of floor.

The collection ranges from a very light color like chester or Tahoe to a very dark color like volcano. Sierra Plank Collection makes an effort to use recycled vinyl when possible, so you know going with this floor type will mean you are helping the environment.

The price of these planks average around $3.27 per square foot. One box of Sierra Plank Collection planks will cover about 22.5 feet.

3. Armstrong

Armstrong vinyl flooring looks very similar to natural wood for a vinyl plank. My favorite feature of these planks are the antique wood planks. Armstrong also carries a wide variety of vinyl tile that looks like ceramic tile. The price range of the ceramic tile vinyl is significantly less expensive than the wood vinyl. The prices of Armstrong flooring varies too much to estimate an average. Check out the flooring types and prices at: www.fastfloors.com

4. Nafco

Each box of Nafco vinyl covers about 27 square feet. Wood colors vary in color like amber, maize, clover, and nutmeg. Nafco also carries vinyl flooring which resembles quarried rock in light colors which is quite beautiful. The wood vinyl costs around $4.00 per square foot, but some of their vinyls are on sale for around $2.00 per square foot. The stone vinyl ranges in price from about $3.00-$5.00 per square foot.

Vertex flooring offers a wide variety of flooring choices. A few types of flooring from their vast array include not just wood vinyl, but also vinyl that looks like stone. Vertex features vinyl floor tiles such as slate, ashlar, corfu, cordoba, graphite, confetti coffee, sierra tile, patina tile and many other types including different colors and styles of wood vinyl. Vertex vinyl tile charges more per box for stone vinyl than wood vinyl but the prices are still very reasonable. For example, a box of graphite vinyl covers 24 sq. feet for a $74.06 case and is $3.09 per square foot where as a box of apple blonde wood vinyl covers 24 sq. feet for a $57.31 case and is $2.39 per square foot.
