Five of the Finest Dry Shampoos

For busy individuals or those who simply want to wash their hair less, dry shampoo is a lifesaver. When applied to hair, dry shampoo has a similar effect as baby powder; it absorbs excess oil and brings freshness to a hairstyle. Additionally, dry shampoo extends the life of a blowout. Finally, it allows one to wash their hair less. Washing your hair less keeps it suppler and also prevents colored hair from fading. As someone who is a devoted user of dry shampoos, here are my top five products.

Oscar Blandi

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is my absolute favorite of the dry shampoos. This fine solution has a delicious lemon verbena scent. This product comes in a spray bottle and a smaller travel sized bottle. I have had the travel bottle for years. Being that it is only one-ounce, it has lasted a long time. The travel sized is applied by squeezing the bottle to disperse onto hair. I would recommend the squeeze bottle over the spray bottle because it doesn’t contain alcohol. The one-ounce size costs $11.00 and the 2.5-ounce costs $19.00. Both can be found at amazon.com.

Stila Crème Bouquet Dry Shampoo

Stila hair refresher in crème bouquet has a lovely fine spray. It comes in my absolute favorite scent, crème bouquet. The scent is a sweet mixture of vanilla, pink lilac, and lily of the valley. At $28.00, this one is a little pricey. However, it lasts and can double as a perfume. Find this at beauty.com. If you want to smell especially delicious, pair this with the Eau De Perfume Spray for $44.99 at perfumenetwork.com. I wore this scent on my wedding day so it is extra special for me.

Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder

If you have darker hair, then bumble and bumble is perfect for you. Most dry shampoos are white. This is fine for blondes or people with lighter shades or red and brown. However, for darker hair, you want a colored hair powder. This brand has dry shampoo in shades of black, brown, blonde and red. Find the 4.4-ounce bottle at amazon.com for $40.00. Or try the one-ounce bottle for under $19.00. Again, if you have light hair, I would go with one of the less expensive options.

Psssst Dry shampoo

Psssssst Instant Spray Shampoo has been around of decades. I like this product for its ease of use and affordability. It comes in an easy to use spray bottle. The biggest plus to this product is that is it a cheap. It costs a little over $5.00 at amazon.com. The only downside to this product is that it contains SD alcohol 40. Thus, use this product sparingly on the roots only. I’ve been using this one and, for the price, it’s pretty nice.

Rene Furterer

Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo To Go is a must for those who want a product without Parabens or Sulfates. Additionally, the product is not tested on animals. The scent is a light perfume. It costs $12.00 for a 1.6 ounce bottle at sephora.com.

When using dry shampoo, remember a little goes a long way. Put a little on roots and hairline, run fingers through hair and then brush it through.
