Find Free Movies for Your PSP at Archive.Org

Everyday, hundreds, if not thousands, of PSP owners scour the Internet to find what free movies they can download for their home viewing pleasure. I have personally become addicted to one site that holds thousands of public domain movies by the name of Archive.org.

The Internet Archive (aka Archive.org) was set up to preserve many of the great works of art in literature and film from slipping away into obscurity. While there are many groups like this around the United States, Archive.org has an extensive collection of works that have slipped into the public domain that have been uploaded to the most public vehicle in the world – the Internet.

There are thousands of videos that can be streamlined or downloaded from Archive.org completely free. Most of the movies that I have seen have been in MPEG4 format, which is the perfect format for viewing a video file on your PSP. Along with old commercials, public service announcements, and TV shows, Archive.org has an ever-growing collection of feature films that are free for viewing or download.

Most of my readers know that I have a fondness for old horror films. I can spend hours watching old gems on my PSP such as, “Night of the Living Dead,” “Dementia 13,” and “The House on Haunted Hill.” Another horror fanatic would be amazed at the number of low-budget horror films that had been forgotten through time that can be viewed on their PSP for free.

For those of you that are not into horror films, but would still like to see some free movies on your PSP, Archive.org also has a ton of old Charlie Chaplin movies, murder mysteries, dramas, and musicals. Whatever your fancy is for movies, you will be amazed with the number of titles that are added everyday to Archive.org that you have never heard of before.

With the PSP, you can save the free movie files from Archive.org to your memory card. Most of the files are less then 300MB, so a 4 Gig card can hold at least twelve movies. Movies that are in color usually take up more space for logical reasons. You can fast-forward, rewind, pause, and zoom just like a regular UMD movie.

Remember that with the PSP Slim, you can also connect your PSP to your TV so that you can watch your free Archive.org movies on a larger screen. Remember though, that some of the movies have been formatted to fit the PSP, so they may not be the best quality once you place them on a big screen.

Don’t forget that you can also put the PSP to the side and copy these free movie files from Archive.org to a DVD or CD. Since all of the movies are in the public domain, you can do just about anything with them without fear of prosecution.

Everyday, more and more movie fans are stumbling across Archive.org in search of free PSP movies. If you have not taken the time at this point, make sure that you do. I can almost guarantee that you will find something that will make you happy.
