If you are friends with them your status posts will go on their Facebook wall and then all of their friends can see what you have written. You can also make your own Facebook page also known as a fan page. You can alternatively make a Facebook Group page but there are less people who seem to want to join these. When you make a special page you get to have basically a one-page advertisement for your blog. Make it compelling enough for people to want to join and then continue through to your blog.

Joining Twitter can prove a valuable money making blog tool. Twitter is another free traffic idea where you need to get friends or followers. Just sign up and tweet about your new blog posts and helpful ideas for your subscribers. There are widgets that you can attach to your blog that will let readers tweet your blog posts, so they are doing the advertising for you.

Try Social Bookmarking
Submitting your blog or blog posts to a social bookmarking site can get you a ton of free traffic. The current top two social bookmarking sites are Digg and StumbleUpon. Another social book marking site to use for free blog traffic is Delicious. If your blog is new and has not even been indexed in the major search engines just a simple social bookmarking and you could accomplish that overnight.

If you are already a social butterfly then you are already on your way to free blog traffic. On the other hand if you shy away from social sites you will have your work cut out for you. Using the above ideas to get free traffic to your blog can increase your blog’s money making potential. There are many other ways to get free traffic to your new blog but if you don’t try them you will never know how far they can get you.
