Energizing Peppermint Bath Soak

I have had several sleepy mornings over the past couple of months. I simply just didn’t feel rested when I woke up in the morning even though I slept through the whole entire night. I knew I didn’t want to drink loads of caffeinated beverages because that would just perk me up for a few hours and I would feel sleepy again within a couple more. I needed something to help wake me right up and keep me energized so I made an uplifting energizing peppermint bath soak. It helped relax my body while I was soaking in the tub so I felt rested while the peppermint aroma uplifted my spirits and woke me right up with its cooling sensation.

The natural ingredients I used to make my homemade energizing peppermint bath soak were 4 cups of Epsom salt, 1 cup of baking soda, 25 drops of essential peppermint oil, 10 drops of spearmint oil, 5 drops of tea tree oil, 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil and ¼ teaspoon of camphor oil. These natural ingredients can all be found at your local herbal store or pharmaceutical store.

The reasons I use these ingredients in the energizing peppermint bath soak are because the peppermint and spearmint provide a cooling uplifting mint aroma that awaken the senses, tea tree oil helps cleanse the skin with its natural antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties, jojoba oil helps soften the skin and the camphor oil helps provide a cooling sensation all over the skin and body that helps wake it right up. The Epsom salt in the soak helps relieve tension, stiffness and soreness in the muscles while also detoxifying the body.

The way the homemade energizing peppermint bath soak is made is by taking the Epsom salt, baking soda, and essential oils and pouring them directly into a large sized mixing bowl. Then you simply take a spoon and combined the ingredients together until they are all evenly distributed. You should end up with a white gritty energizing peppermint bath soak that can be placed into a plastic container to help keep it fresh until it is ready to be used.

Now when you are ready to use the homemade energizing peppermint bath soak on a sleepy morning to help wake you up all you need to do is fill the tub up with plenty of warm water. Then you can take about 1 cup of the bath soak and pour it directly into the bathwater and allow it to dissolve for 3 minutes. You will notice as the bath salt is dissolving the peppermint aroma filling the air of your bathroom. Once the bath is ready all you need to do is get into it and soak for a good 30 minutes or until you feel awake. Now the bath soak is very relaxing, but you will feel a soothing and uplifting cooling sensation all over your body that will help wake you up. You will also want to breathe deep while soaking in the tub to really allow that peppermint aroma to help awaken your senses and wake you up as well. After your bath you should feel energized and ready to begin your day without becoming sleepy again.
