Easy and Fun Kid Heart Hairstyles 2011

Last year I wrote about How you can create a heart in your hair for Valentine’s Day. Well, since then I have been having fun creating new heart looks that would be perfect to wear for Valentine’s Day 2011. Hearts are adored by almost any women, especially young girls.

You can wear the hair cute and simple or fun and crazy. One huge heart, or a bunch of them placed all over the head. Be creative, think of other items that are a part of Valentine’s Day such as Conversation heart candies, roses, teddy bear, flowers, or a cupid just to name a few. Take these ideas and use them in your hair. Here’s how:

Conversation Heart Candy Hairstyle

Who doesn’t like to receive these popular little Valentine’s Day candies? These candies have been around so long, but kids just simply love them. Why? Because they get to go through and check out all the cute sayings on them like Love Me, Be Mine, Let’s Kiss, Love, Hey You, My Baby, #1 Fan and so on. Create this idea into your child’s hair. When they go to school everybody will not only be reading their hair they will be commenting on how cute it looks.

Knowing Valentine’s Day 2011 is on a Monday, this will give you the whole weekend to create something really cute for your kid. You don’t have to be a hairstylist to do this, all you need is patience and time.

Creating The Look

First decide the hairstyle. Do you want an updo, hair all down in curls, half up, simple bun, two ponytails, heart or just one big ponytail? Once you decided on that, gather up your materials needed to create the style.

You will need different colored felt, glue, bobby pins, ribbon if desired, very fine permanent markers in different colors. Make sure you have a black too for the lettering.

On the felt draw a heart. Not too tiny not too huge. Just a nice medium size will do. Double the fabric and you can make a few at a time. Use white, pink, yellow, light blue, orange, and purple material. Once you have at least 20 hearts cut out, pair them up and glue them together. Now you should have ten hearts.

Either glue the pairs together or you can sew them. Next outline each heart with the coordinating color of felt. For instance for the blue heart use blue marker. When you outline them make sure you do real tiny little dots, so it almost resembles a sewing design.

Now write your saying on each heart using the black marker. Fill the letters in with coordinating color of felt and heart. Do this until all the hearts are complete.

Then style your hair. Place the conversation heart onto section of hair, and use a bobby pin to secure it. Have fun with this idea.

Rose Bun

Instead of receiving or giving roses for Valentine’s Day, wear them in your hair. This elegant yet fun style is easy to do, and your child will enjoy it. Once you finish the look, adorn it with red and white ribbon, small red silk flowers, or just use red and white gemstones.

To create this look I am going to make it easy for you by giving you the Rose Bun Tutorial to follow. This way you can see the directions and pictures to get a better idea on how it’s suppose to look.

My last look is real simple yet so adorable. It’s called Two Small Buns With One Heart.

Part the hair from middle of ear going up to the other middle of ear like a halo. Then split that section in half on top. Create a small bun on the left side and right and cover it with cute red and white curly ribbon.

Now from the middle of the halo section in back section down and create a ponytail. Split the ponytail in half and twist each section. Create the heart and pin in the middle. At the bottom of the heart place either a huge red bow, or red and white curly ribbon.

Attached to this article will be a double heart look, and to learn how to just create a heart with a barrette read Create A Valentine’s Day Heart In Your Hair .
