Don’t Forget Your AARP Discount

Everyone likes to save a few dollars and get a bargain, right? Well, fellow senior citizens, don’t leave home without your wallet containing your valuable AARP membership and other discount cards to use at retailers in your area. I once saw an ad in a newspaper supplement that advertised a cap with the saying “Don’t forget my senior discount” I never purchased the hat but perhaps I should as a reminder to myself and the cashier to be sure to offer me any eligible discounts.

When you shop in person, Walgreens offers a senior discount on your in store purchases. However, if you do not ask or look too young to be a senior, you may not receive it. So, remember to ask for your AARP discount when you shop at Walgreens. For additional information, view the website www.walgreens.com/aarpcard.

If you do catalog shopping, Blair company, an online clothing and mail order company, offers a 5% discount for online purchases. At the end of your order in the promotional box enter the letters FED and you will receive the discount. If you pay off the balance of your bill monthly or at least within 60 days, you will not have to contend with the ever present high interest rates store and credit cards charge.
