Instructions
The first thing you need to do is picking out what type of flower or flowers that you would like to use and arrange them. Roses look great alone, with calla lilies, or peonies (or honestly just about anything as the rose is the classic wedding bouquet flower). If you have a large amount of flowers, you will want to use a vase to arrange them so your hands won’t get tired and you can easily turn it around to make sure you have the flowers evenly distributed across all sides.

Once you have your bouquet looking the way you want it, have a friend or family member hold the bouquet while you wrap the stems in floral wire to secure the flowers into position. Wrap ribbon (silk or velvet) around the stems making sure you cover all of floral wire. If you are using real flowers, don’t wrap the bottom of the stems because they will need to go in cold water when you are finished to make sure the flowers don’t wilt. If you are using artificial flowers, try to cover the bottom of the stems to help hide the fact that you are using artificial flowers. Push corsage pins in a row down one side of the bridal bouquet to hold the ribbon in place.

Put a bouquet made with real flowers back in the vase with a little water in the bottom (make sure it doesn’t touch the ribbon) and place in the refrigerator. Bouquets made with artificial flowers should also be put into the vase to be sure the arrangement doesn’t get messed up and it doesn’t look funny from lying on its side.

Estimated make time: around 30 minutes, allow more time for more flowers

Extra Tips
If you choose artificial flowers, you will be able to make your bridal bouquet long before your wedding day. Real flowers will look nicer, but look best if put together no later than the day before the wedding. Fortunately if you are choosing calla lilies or orchids and would like to go with artificial flowers, you can find them made from a rubbery substance that makes them look like real flowers and you will save money because real orchids can be very expensive. If you do use fresh flowers, you can save money by buying popular flowers such as roses at a grocery store or Walmart. Don’t forget to keep fresh flowers in the refrigerator after you are finished making your bouquet.
