Disney World for the Pooh Fan

Walt Disney World in Florida has countless attractions, but which ones are bound to be favorites for fans of Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Woods? We took a look, park by park.

For the Winnie the Pooh fan, the highlight of the Magic Kingdom is “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.” Riders board “hunny pots” and pass through the pages of familiar and favorite Pooh tales. Tigger, Piglet, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga, and Roo all make appearances in the story, and the accompanying music is upbeat and enchanting. This is a “must see” attraction for any fan of Winnie the Pooh.

Opposite “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” is “Pooh’s Playful Spot.” This interactive play area, designed for children between the ages of two and five, features a splash area and Rabbit’s Garden.

Mickey’s Toontown Fair features The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm–better known as Goofy’s Barnstormer–a family roller coaster themed as a crop duster on a goofy route. Also in Toontown, the Hall of Fame tent houses multiple character greeting areas. The characters change often, and sometimes there will be a “mystery” line. Pooh and his Hundred Acre Woods pals may or may not make an appearance there.

While in the Magic Kingdom, Pooh fans will also want to take in a character meal at the Crystal Palace. This buffet-style restaurant is home to Pooh and his friends, and provides the opportunity for guests to meet and greet characters such as Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. The restaurant is themed with Winnie the Pooh designs, as well.

“Playhouse Disney Live!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios may include appearances by Tigger and Pooh. This show, created with preschoolers in mind, is upbeat and entertaining. Pooh and his friends may also be available for character greetings at the Sorcerer’s Hat. Schedules and character appearances are subject to change, so check the Times Guide when you arrive.

Epcot has, at times, a character greeting location in Future World. The location and hours vary, so check the Epcot Times Guide. In World Showcase, Pooh and his friends make appearances at the United Kingdom pavilion. The themed background makes good photos, and the characters are sometimes willing to gather together for a group photo with guests.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a few character greeting locations where Pooh and friends sometimes appear. Camp Minnie-Mickey is the primary greeting area, and Pooh and Tigger can often be found at the character greeting trails. Near the bridge to Dinoland USA is another location where Pooh and Tigger, and sometimes Eeyore and Rabbit, can be found.

At Downtown Disney Marketplace, be sure to visit Pooh Corner. This store offers an extensive selection of Winnie the Pooh gifts, household items, and toys. You’re sure to find something for yourself or the Pooh fan in your life.

If all else fails and you’ve just got to meet Winnie the Pooh or Tigger, ask a Cast Member. They’re able to call a phone number to locate a specific character. We did this once, on the last day of a vacation. The cast member cheerfully directed us to the location where we could meet a certain character–in this case, Daisy Duck.

Fans of Winnie the Pooh will find a number of enjoyable attractions at Disney World, and can have many opportunities to meet Pooh and his friends.
