CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder in Translucent

I’m going to be honest, Bare Essentials Rare Minerals is by far one of the best loose powder foundations that one can buy, but in all honesty the price is absolutely absurd, and not everyone has a spare $50-$60 laying around to just splurge on their fabulous powdered foundations.

I have found a powdered foundation that works similar to Bare Essentials, for a fraction of the cost, and who would of thought that CoverGirl is the responsible party?

CoverGirls Professional Loose Powder prices in at anywhere from $4.99 to $6.99 depending on where you buy it. I find that Walmart has the lowest prices when it comes to this product, but it also tends to go on sale a lot at Eckerds for a mere $3.00.

CoverGirls Professional Loose Powder has proved to be a diamond in the dirt when it comes to loose powders as it throws all of it’s competition behind. Trust me, I have tried my fair share of loose powders,

My all time favorite has been, and always will be CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder in transparent. You can buy this powder in other shades from light to dark, but in all honesty I have tried them, and they tend to leave a dusty colored film behind that sticks to fine hairs on your face. The result is sort of messy, and obvious. The transparent powder shows no color as it rids our face of shine, thus making it the best option available.

Packaging:

The powder comes in a plastic jug. The top will be colored depending on which shade you buy. The transparent shade comes with a blue lid, the top slides off with ease and inside the container is a round poof you use to apply the powder. The bottom of the jug is clear and you are able to get a good idea of just how much powder is left in the container.

A tip I find useful is to throw the round applicator sponge away. These round applicators collect dirt and oils which will cause break outs. Instead go out and buy yourself a makeup brush. A medium sized one will do just fine. I use the brush to apply the powder, which allows the powder to go on more easily and evenly than it would using that nasty round sponge.

The powder can be shaken out through the small holes that are inside of the jug. One little tap on the counter will bring the powder up into the compartment where I dip my brush.

This is probably the biggest issue I have with the loose powder though, if you leave it in your purse it gets shaken up a bit, and too much powder will enter the chamber. When you go to open the top a lot of it can come pouring out if you are not careful.

Before I apply this I will apply CoverGirls Advanced Radiance liquid foundation. I let the liquid foundation dry for about a minute and then I do a quick application of the powder. The powder keeps my face shine free and fresh looking after applying the Advanced Radiance.

What I love about CoverGirl’s loose powder in translucent is that it lasts for hours and does not call for any touch ups. I used to suffer from shiny oily skin, especially in summer months, but with just a quick application of this loose powder I find that my face does not shine at all.

For more information on this product visit www.covergirl.com. At the site you can also see other shades, and you can get help on choosing the best shade for your skin tone. It is my opinion though, like I have mentioned already, that you buy the translucent powder. This powder gives your liquid foundation that finishing shine free touch, and best of all it is weightless. You can touch your face and it will feel like your actual skin, and not some rubbery dried out piece of clay.

Overall CoverGirl’s Professional Loose Powder works nearly as well as Bare Essentials expensive loose powders for a fraction of the cost. The powder gives me shine free skin for the entire day without the need to touch ups. The price is fair, it causes no break outs, and the product works. Like I mentioned earlier, be sure to wear this over foundation for the best finish.

This powder is hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin, and dermatologist tested.
