Comparison Shopping for Mother’s Day Rings: Zales to Wal-Mart

Are you looking for something unique for your mom this Mother’s Day? Do you want to find something she will cherish and wear proudly for years to come? Women love jewelry, and mothers of all ages will appreciate a customized Mother’s Day ring with her children’s, or even grandchildren’s, birthstones.

Zales.com

Two years ago, I decided I wanted a Mother’s Day ring. My first stop online was Zales.com. Most everyone is familiar with Zales; it’s a name you can trust.

Zales has a large selection of family jewelry, which are completely customizable. In addition to Mother’s Day rings, Zales also carries couples rings, family pendants, bracelets and more. They do offer name engraving, but the options weren’t as expansive as I had hoped, and you can’t see what your design will look like before ordering.

The selection is impressive, however, and the Mother’s Day rings range in price from $59 – $599.

AllBlackHillsJewelry.com

Growing up in the Dakotas, Black Hills Gold jewelry has always been a very popular choice for men and women alike. AllBlackHillsJewelry.com has various Mother’s Day rings to choose from, featuring the most popular styles from makers such as Stamper, Black Hills Gold Jewelry by Coleman, and Landstrom’s.

Because of the nature of Black Hills gold jewelry, they don’t offer name engraving. However, there are many styles to choose from. With the Mother’s Day rings, this Web site requires all orders be placed via email or telephone. Prices range from $65 to $175.

Wal-Mart.com

I still hadn’t found the perfect Mother’s Day ring for me. A friend of mine told me about the jewelry on WalMart.com. Normally Wal-Mart isn’t the first store I think of when shopping for high quality jewelry, but I was pleasantly surprised.

They have a section to design your own family jewelry. There are so many different options to choose from to make it your own: silver, gold, white gold; natural, man-made, or simulated stones; name engraving and ring style, just to name a few. Each choice you make in the design of your Mother’s Day ring shows in real time on the screen.

The Mother’s Day ring I chose was the Keepsake Personalized Endless Heart Ring. I actually made it into a family ring and put my birth stone in the center, then flanked it with my children’s stones. It was just my luck we ended up with red, white, and blue. I was able to customize it with our names and see it on the screen before ordering, which was very important to me since my children’s names are hard to spell.

If designing the Mother’s Day ring was the fun part, then ordering the Mother’s Day ring was the painless part. The ring arrived before the allotted two-four weeks for delivery.

Wal-Mart’s Mother’s Day rings range in price from $55 – $350 and up.
