Clear Contact Paper Designs for Doors, Drawers, and More

Clear contact paper can be purchased by the roll, and when you do so, you can do much more than line shelves with it. The roll paper makes it easy to create new paper designs for your doors, window frames, cabinets, dressers and more.

Use inexpensive craft products like glitter, paper, foil, and other flat items to create an image or design. The creation can be detailed or simplistic, but will definitely be easy to achieve. You can probably find things around the house that will help you make the design, and you won’t have to purchase craft supplies at all.

Cut shapes of hearts, diamonds, circles and ovals, then place them on the adhesive side of the contact paper. Cut the contact paper just slightly larger than the fabric piece, and you’ll be able to attach the cutouts to drawers, walls or mirrors.Or, cut tiny foil pieces, stick them on the paper, then place them on windows, appliances or even vases.

There’s no limit to the number of designs you can do and few limitations to the surfaces you can apply the new creations to. Plant pots, shelving, toaster, trash cans – and even picture frames – are candidates for the contact paper creations.

Since you’ll be placing the images, cutouts, and other supplies, directly onto the adhesive side of the contact paper, remember that the design you create will actually be its mirror image after you attach it to the object. For specific designs keep this in mind while creating.

Just about anything that lays flat can be used to make the contact paper designs for your home. Cut stencils to create intricate designs you can cut from foil, or trace around things to create the designs. If you draw well just draw pictures or images and cut them out. You can even find picturs online and print them to cut.

Using the adhesive paper, your designs are protected from dirt, and the contact paper can be washed with soap and water or other cleaners. This makes the creations perfect for living areas, kitchens – even the bathroom.

Scrapbook items are great for helping to create the contact paper designs. You’ll find colorful papers, foil shapes, and other flat items, like baby buggies or pets. These stick flat to the contact paper and allow you to make interesting arrangements.

Create many different types of contact paper designs, depending upon the combination of craft items used. For example, make a round picture, stick it to the wall, then encircle it with a new stove burner ring. The ring gives the arrangement dimension and depth while creating a look of a portal-type window. Or, make a rectangular picture and nail up four flat wood pieces to create the look of a deep picture frame.

Cut the clear shelf paper to the size of a window then sprinkle on glitter. You’ll give the window a sparkle look but still be able to see out. You can make some really interesting designs with fishing twine, too. Allow the twine to fall randomly onto the contact paper, then stick to a window. The twine is clear, yet still noticeable, and can fall into some intricate designs. Be sure the twine is very thin so you won’t have a bulkiness to the creation.

Use an ordinary paper doily, on a piece of colorful cloth, to make unique pictures you can hang in the kitchen, living room or bath. Use stickers on the doily to decorate, or even spell out words and phrases.

There’s no limit to the creative possibilities when you make the contact paper creations. Cut them in various shapes and sizes, stick them to assorted surfaces, frame them or don’t, and just plain have fun with this project!
