Best Astrological Software for Beginners

I’ve been dabbling with astrology now for about four years. It was about 2 years ago when I had my own chart done by hand by a professional astrologer that I learned how much more, there was to understanding astrology beyond your Sun and Ascendant sign. I took a lesson from this particular astrologer who furthered my awareness with astrology. Since then I have always had a strong interest to improve my knowledge of astrology. When I asked him if there were any good software programs out there for astrology, he directed me to Matrix Software and suggested to start with WinStar Express V3. Matrix Software has many other astrological and new age software, however the WinStar Express V3 is the best one for beginners.

WinStar Express is easy to maneuver around, even if you aren’t an expert with astrology. You get instant natal charts, transits, progressions, directions, solar and lunar returns. There is a complete Astro Tutor with DeVore’s Encyclopedia of Astrology. There are four basic wheel types: Standard, Unequal, European, or Aries. You can print out Natal, Transit and Synastry relationships interpretations and so much more.

What’s great about this is you can get a sense of whether the wind is behind your back, or you are up against a brick wall, for you or your family. These narrative interpretations are more for the beginner. However, if you understand the planet personalities, it is inexpensive software to get the Transits and the Progressive charts. There are free sites on the Internet that I have found for Natal and even Transit charts. However, you can’t overlay them and that is what you will see in this software. It is the only way to really understand what is going on in someone’s chart.

Matrix Software will give you a free demo for the WinStar Express V3 to use for a thirty day trial. This is what I did first. It gave me an opportunity to play around with it. There was a slight problem in the beginning. However, I called their tech support and everything was resolved. I waited a while before buying the software in hopes that prices were going to come down. It typically sells for $99. And sure enough right now it is on sale till December 27th for $74.95.
To buy it, you can download it or ask for a CD to be sent in the mail. The only problem is you have to pay for shipping charges if you opted for that. If you download you can get it immediately. However, with a CD you can use it on any computer. I’m not sure if you can re-download it to another computer if you changed computers.

WinStar Express will give you the same precision and calculation that is used in their professional program but it will also include tools to help you quickly build up your astrological skills and knowledge. It’s the perferct gift for that astrologer in your family for the holidays. It could even turn a hobby into a business.
