Best 5 Women’s Cycling Shorts for Summer

Are you looking to buy a few pairs of women’s cycling shorts for summer? Before you plunk down your hard earned cash, you’ll want to shop around for those shorts with the best rider-friendly features. Personally, I tend to like cycling shorts that are made from a moisture wicking material and have either a medium or long length leg. With that said, here’s a look at five of the best women’s cycling shorts for summer:

1. Primal Wear Namaste Shorts

Don’t let the $85 price tag be off-putting, the Namaste Shorts by Primal Wear is worth the cash outlay. I like it for several reasons. It is made from a moisture wicking material that doesn’t tend to ride up your thighs or down your back while you’re riding. I also like the look of the shorts. It has a pretty green and white floral design that looks great with the black background. You can typically purchase a pair online through most women’s sports apparel retailers.

2. Pearl Izumi Symphony Shorts

The Pearl Izumo Symphony Shorts made my list because it has a lot of nice features. For starters, it’s made from a moisture wicking material that is also reflective. In my opinion, that makes them superlative for riding at dawn. The shorts also come with a side pocket and an anatomical design that helps reduce chafing along the seam lines. The shorts are available through a variety of stores online for around $110 a pair.

3. Descente Women’s Bliss Shorts

Those on a budget may want to consider buying a pair of Descente Women’s Bliss Shorts. A pair will usually lighten your wallet by $65. What I like about it is the 8-panel design, the seamless chamois and the flatlock seams. Together they tend to keep the shorts from riding up or down and reduce chafing. You can also choose from a variety of accent colors like blue, red and white.

4. Louis Garneau Equipe Shorts

The Louis Garneau Equipe Shorts are another pair of cycling shorts to consider if you are watching your finances. You can generally pick up a pair online for roughly $90. The moisture wicking fabric, compression design with grippers and gel inserts makes them comfortable to wear. I also like the colorful options and the fact that it comes with a pocket.

5. Sugoi RSE

The Sugoi RSE is a great choice because it features a 10-panel design with no inseams that makes them fit well and reduces chafing. The fabric is also breathable, which is a plus once the temperatures start to rise. A pair will generally decrease your bank account by about $105.
